| Midlake – Chasing After Deer Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Very simple lyrics with a beautiful double layered meaning to it. The simplified image of someone chasing after a deer which leads to its death project the uncontrolable. This can either be love (which 90% of the people always interpret) or as Cyberghost pointed out so well a dream, no matter what kind. The deer is your goal, this could either be a person you love or a goal that you try to accomplish, while the sea and the woods are the setting, which ultimately cannot be controlled. This setting can be positive (For myself I must remind, That the woods are usually kind) or negative (but the sea is not mine). And in case of this song it ends in a tragic. Very simplistic song both instrumental as lyrical but very beautiful once you take your time for it. | |
| Interpol – Wrecking Ball Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Well the outro lyrics remain a mystery even though I've been searching for a while. Either its my submitted lyrics in reverse or its something in spanish. But it remains a guess since there are no official interpol lyrics and some which are submitted on their site are still obviously wrong... | |

| Radiohead – Climbing Up the Walls Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This song screams paranoia in every way, though beautiful it just makes my skin crawl. Sirsid did an excellent in-depth explanation however I just loved the twist Quatape gave. Very Mr. Brookish :) Honestly I don't have anything to add because Sirsid has layed it out perfectly. All I can say is that this is by far the most haunting song I ever heard about paranoia and insanity. It's perfect both lyrically and soundwise. Climbing up the walls is such a perfect metaphor and Radiohead makes this line into a terrifying image created by tom's nervous voice and the amazing climax. Listin this song before you go to bed and I assure you, you will have nightmares. |

| The Veils – Vicious Traditions Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Even though Demi Moore sucked hard and the writers are hollywood whores for fucking up that amazing ending (really really gay, its like when brad pitt actually shot at the floor instead of at the killer) Mr. Brooks introduced me to the veils. And for that I am grateful. Just wanted to mention that :D I agree with the Stalin theory btw especially the "He grew a blood red vision for all their good intentions" line is beautiful. I remember thinking during history lessons that the ideas behind communism were for the greater good. Pratice thriumps over theory however. |

| Arcade Fire – The Suburbs Lyrics | 15 years ago |

So can you understand? Why I want a daughter while I'm still young I wanna hold her hand And show her some beauty Before this damage is done But if it's too much to ask, it's too much to ask Then send me a son Might be the most beautiful verse I have ever heard. The way he sings it, such despair in his voice makes me shiver every time. The thing I love most about AF is that each of their albums surround a few reoccuring themes. With any other bands that would make it repetitive, boring and anoying even. However with Arcade Fire it adds more layers to every written line and the album as a whole. Welcome to the Suburbs. |

| Interpol – Rest My Chemistry Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Very nice interpretation, I especially like your view on the resting. I never really thought about it that way, but the inability to completly fight of the addiction and therefor call it rest is beautiful. | |

First of all the lyrics are wrong: Give me one, 'cause one is best In confusion, confidence Give me peace of mind and trust Don't forget the rest of us Give me strength, reserve control From the official site and various other sources. Second of all, this discussion over 9/11 should be held somewhere else. To say this lyric is based on 9/11 or anything similar is fine ofcourse. But it's gotten quite patriotic or rude here and there. As for my thoughts about the lyrics, I'll go with the basic human emotion. Wanting stability both mentally as well as materialistic. The frustration comes from the fact that we shouldn't be aiming for stability but improvemt and speak up. Look at what the world is becoming and deal with it as a unity in a controlled manner and to never forget that love is the most important aspect of being human. |

| Interpol – No I in Threesome Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I Mostly like AzraelUTD´s interpetation, however I have to disagree on the cheating part. I think they aranged some kind of "seeing other people" deal (let's give something new a try). And when she embraces this Idea (you feel the sweet breath of time> First the time drove them apart but now its a sweet door towards new and exciting pleasures). (It's whispering it's truth, not mine) He realized this deal works both ways and what at first seemed a perfect solution to his dieing relationship, has now turned against him. And indeed this double edged sword made clear that his original egoistic solution has no place for him (there's no "i"in threesome). Because she took this oppertunity so eagerly he realizes that this relation was meaningless and he overexcitly reacts to cover up he actually is hurt (and i am all for it). I like how people try to find meaning in the threesome bit, for example interpolsimon's theory about a third party is very interesting. That's the beauty of music, own interpetation. However this song is for me just a well written lyric about sex and lust overcoming meaning and Love. Life is wine. |
