I think this song happens to be about a sad internal conflict. The first stanza could be about how you wish something would change your life. “Why’d you cut holes in the face of the moon base? Don’t you know about the temperature change, are you mad at your walls, or hoping an unknown force can repair things for you? ,” translates (to me) why did you bring this grief upon yourself, didn’t you know it wouldn’t make anything better or easier for you? Are you mad at yourself for it? Do you wish someone would rescue you from your misery? “Pardon all the time that you’ve thrown into your pale grey garden” means, your wallowing in yourself pity waiting for someone to reach out and help you, “If your ship will never come you gotta move along,” if no one’s coming figure out a way to deal yourself. “Even a bird would want a taste from abyssal dark” even a bird can handle feelings better than you. The next lines are about how little things can piss you off and release a wrath. If she’s going under line is like I can fix this issue or die from the pain. Hes a rat, is saying he gave up. The last stanza is about how the person receives help. Communication, is easy as the ocean, its simple but not always easily crossed. |
