| Robert Pattinson – Never Think Lyrics | 16 years ago |

To me he's saying "run, you should have nothing to do with me." This is essentially the same as Edward's message to Bella, "i'm no good for you." But still, she loves him despite his belief that he is eternally damned. That is the peril of love. I think that regardless of his words, he still loves her,"I should never think/ What's in your heart/ What's in our home" and that why it is essential that he tells her to go. If at the end of the day she doesn't listen and pleads with him, "She's standing outside holding me, saying oh please, I'm in love," he won't be able to withstand his feelings, "I ain't got no fight in me In this whole damn world/ So hold off/ She should hold off." Therefore to me this song is the ultimate song for representing the love in Twilight, even better i would think New Moon. |

Is it sad that I discovered this song from Robert Pattinson itunes playlist? ALl the same, I love this song. I think it is very interesting that the things he does take are almost as a defense, to layer and protect him, "railroad boots, and my leather jacket...the scarf off of your clothesline." Notice her name is Ruby which reflects love, strong emotions, a fire which is put out by "everything's turning blue now," the rain. He notes the "broken window chimes," which could reflect the song of their love, it will never play again. The Christmas reference could almost be interpreted as his leaving--"i'll never kiss your lips again,or break your heart, as i say goodbye--"is the gift he is giving her, saying that "there'll be someone else to hold you." ahhh, the work of a true lyrical genius. |

| Van Morrison – T.B. Sheets Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I might be totally wrong here, but I think that parallelisms can be drawn between these lyrics and The Yellow Wallpaper by Gilman. Here she is confined to this room, and he kind of taunts and berates her saying, "a fool's room." Strangely enough in both works, the cracks are negative,"And the sunlight shining through the crack in the window pane/ Numbs my brain." One would believe that the sunlight brought in would be a good thing, but it only serves as a reminder that there is an outside world. This of course is the reason being contained in such a room is a bad thing. In the two cases, it is the female who is confined to the room. Why does he get to leave? She is sick, which is of course the same premise of the Yellow Wallpaper.I am not saying that this is what Van Morrison meant, it could simply be about his wife. I just immediately thought of The Yellow Wallpaper when I heard this. | |
