I used to listen to Tegan and Sara religiously several years back so I burnt myself out on them and just forgot to go back. I was wandering through lyrics and came across them. This used to be my favorite song of all time and reading through them just made me feel like I should express some love for their music. They're always great. |

Could it be... He hears of some terrible news dealing with the world, another culture, or other variation of and has a heavy heart for what has happened to other innocent people and yet why are others so lucky to live or inflict pain. He is torn between feeling burdened by crisis and questioning his luck but at the same time being thankful that he isn't forced to live a certain way (tied to the tree?) but able to swing freely through out the tree of life (stuck up the tree)? I guess the beauty of the song or most intriguing songs in general is the uncertainty in the meaning. |
