It's "They've sped up to the point where they provoke." I got the FWN songbook that has all the correct lyrics in it(: "When did your list replace the twist and turn Like a fist replaced the kiss Don't concern us with your bollocks I don't want your prayers"(: I was totallyy surprised at that part |

"They've sped up to the point where they provoke." Not "despair" "When did your list replace the twist and turn? Like a fist replaced a kiss Don't concern us with your bollocks I don't want your prayers." |

| Arctic Monkeys – Plastic Tramp Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I agree with most people on here. About a fake homeless person Plastic = Fake Tramp = Homeless person! ta da(: "Looks as if he hasn't slept, his hair is *perfectly* unkempt," He LOOKS like he hasn't slept, his hair is just messy enough, cause he's tryiing to look homeless. "Shadows underneath the eyes, everywhere the bastard lies." Everywhere the bastard lies -- all over the streets/towns? Or perhaps all of his person, you know, his hair, his eyes, his shoes --> "What he's wearing on his feet won't solve our mystery." Just cause his shoes are crap doesn't mean they're the only pair he has. He's faking it. "There's nothing really I can say, but 'sorry mate' and walk away." He can't say "YOU ARE A FAKE!" when the guy asks him for money. all he can do is say "sorry, mate" and leave. "Is he really on the street? Desperation or deceit?" Is he truly homeless? Is he desperate for money, or pretending to be? "Your conscience *ain't* your friend." Obviously this guy isn't cozy-close with his conscience if he's conning people on the street. "I'm baffled by how you stand there, soaking it in." He doesn't get how this guy can just fake something like this, enjoy it. "Do you hide your identity where you hide your grin?" He's hiding his identity -- not homeless -- where he's hiding his grin, (on the "inside") because he knows that he's fooling all these people. |
