Daft Punk – Doin' it Right (feat. Panda Bear) Lyrics 12 years ago
This is my favorite song off of their Random Access Memories album!
It's meaning seems close to that of "Lose Yourself to Dance."
However, "Doin' It Right" seems to be more collective which I could imagine being a crowd in the club or at a house party. On the other hand, "Lose Yourself to Dance" seems more like a hardcore one-person party.

Atlas Genius – Centered on You Lyrics 12 years ago
I love this song! Very relaxing guitar and rhythm. The vocals add a nice touch too. I think the song is about two people, and one of them has just confessed their feelings towards the other. However, the other does not share the same feelings as the other person creating an unbalanced shift in their relationship.

"A heart drops it's emotion
Towards, 'it's not how it's supposed to be'"

- The narrator confessed that they have greater feelings towards this other person. Unfortunately, this person does not share these feelings but would rather remain as friends. To be beyond friends "is not how it's supposed to be" and now the relationship is at an imbalance. Almost immediately, the person who confessed their feelings feels their heart drop due to the rejection and the possibility that they messed up their relationship.

"Slow burn the devotion
We took turns, the stars fell over"

- After that, things don't seem to go back to normal. The stars falling over symbolizes that the sparkle in the relationship is burning away.

"The outcome is pseudo bliss
Turn hours sung, I went in tears"

- They decided to remain just friends regardless that one of them wants to be more than that. As a result, one of them will not be truly happy being stuck in the "friend zone."

"And it all rolled into one"

- The last line ties all of these phases together very well. By admitting that they loved the other individual, they rolled their mutual relationship together into this one-sided romance. Now all of the possibilities of anything else beyond what they are now are gone like fallen stars.

"Mind lit up
The second for
Centered on you
My conscience all lit up
This second for
Centered on you"

- They keep thinking about the possibility of being more than friends with the other person.

(She went, "all we are"
She went, "all we are"
She went, "all we are"
She went, "all we are")

- The other person's rejection. The phrase "all we are" rejects the idea of something greater than from what it is now.

This is just my interpretation.

Also, it seems from the get-go that the singer's romantic interest was just interested in the sexual aspect. However, it wasn't until they were heartbroken that they realized they were only being used as a booty call.

Paramore – Monster Lyrics 14 years ago
It seems that a lot of people think this song is about the band breaking up. However, every time I listen to this song I can't help but have a religious interpretation pop up in my head, even though I myself and not a very religious person. I think this song vaguely refers to Christ, Lucifer, and us humans. This song is like a journey of the world, as in the first verse is exclusively in the point of view of a human. They describe their relationship with god, or Jesus Christ. "You were my conscience, so solid, now you're like water" refers to his or her belief in God now. The human is gradually losing faith in their own God and religion.

"But I'll get a new one and come back for the hope that you've stolen" ---This line seems to be almost like a betrayal to God. The human is saying I don't want you anymore, so I'll go find something better. Apparently they're doing this because God hasn't proved his existence to them.

The second verse is the scariest one to me because it is dialogue between an entity and a human. This verse is the point of view of Lucifer, or Satan, whom is the fallen angel that some people believe was a poor victim of God's furious wrath. They begin by saying, "I'm only human, I've got a skeleton in me" which obviously every human has. However, this upcoming verse proves that it is not a human speaking, but a higher being. "Call me a traitor, I'm just collecting your victims." Could this be a remark made by Satan towards God? Lucifer insists that he's "not the villain, despite what you're always preaching." Hm. And Satan concludes that his power over the world is growing. "And they're getting stronger. I hear them calling" may refer to the widespread influence Satan is having.

The bridge seems to be a taunt at the fading army of God. "But you're gonna lose it, you're gonna lose it" refers to God's influence in the world. Satan is also recollecting a past relationship possibly with God because now he knows he is in control.

The chorus is the icing on the cake. Both the human and Lucifer agree and exclaim that this is not the world they want to see. This is a direct backlash against God. They will stop the whole world from turning into what they believe is a monster. Of course we all have different opinions on what we think is monstrous and not. The last line is pretty self explanatory.
"Now that your gone, the world is ours."

If you listen really closely to the track you can even hear her say.
"Now that your God, the world is ours" which could be the human speaking to Satan.

I don't really know, but this is my somewhat odd interpretation.

Lady GaGa – Government Hooker Lyrics 14 years ago
The chorus to this song is one of her best!

"I'm gonna drink my tears tonight,
I'm gonna drink my tears and cry,
'Cause I know you love me baby,
I know you love me baby"

It sounds to me like she's in a lot of denial.
She wants to believe that she is really "loved", however
the reality is that she is just being used and feels like a "hooker."

Lady GaGa – Heavy Metal Lover Lyrics 14 years ago
When this song first leaked onto the internet I thought it was titled "Heavy Mental Lover" but after two days I realized I was wrong lol
Anyways, this is one of my favorites off BTW, but did anybody else hear these?

In the song there's a line that said "Red Wine, Cheap Perfume, and a filthy pout"
HOWEVER, I could only hear "Red wine, cheap perfume and a filthy cunt."
Also, when she says, "Would you love me if I ruled the world, world, world?"
I heard "but would you love me if I ruined the world, world, world?"

Britney Spears – Inside Out Lyrics 14 years ago
~~ Here is my interpretation.

"Said you're gonna be here in a minute
Sitting in the mirror, getting pretty
Gotta look my best if we're gonna break up
Gotta look my best if we're gonna break up"

~~ This opening part is about a person who is ready to stop the evil inside them; to set things straight with themselves once and for all if you will, such as facing a bad habit of drinking alcohol. The first thing to stop a bad habit is to acknowledge it. The first line is anticipating the craving for the habit. They wait because they know that they will crave sooner or later.

"I can hear you knocking at the front door
And I know exactly what you came for
Try to say goodbye but it's hot and heavy
Try to say goodbye but it's hot and heavy"

~~ The craving has arrived. And they know what will happen because this has occurred too many times before. They've acknowledge that this bad habit/craving (alcohol) has to stop. However, no craving goes away without a fight.

"You touch me and it's breaking me down
Me down, me down, me down
I'm telling you, let's just give it up and get down
And get down, and get down"

~~ The craving is just too powerful and they're on the verge of giving down. Past recollections about the habit are repeated in the same way the lyrics are repeated. After holding off the addiction/habit for a while, the urge is just too powerful and they give in to their cravings.

"I know that we probably shouldn't do this
Wake up in the morning feeling stupid
Said that we were done but you're all up on me
Said that we were done but you're all up on me"

~~ This person fighting the habit knows fully well that it is a bad habit that needs to be badly terminated. They will regret it later if they give in, but alcohol is always there. Tempting you with its luxuriousness.

"Tell me how we got in this position
Guess I've gotta get you out my system
Try to let you go but it's not that easy
Try to let you go but it's not that easy"

~~ The addiction is a big problem that this person desperately wants to get rid of. They're unaware how it got this bad. It has become deeply ingrained in their brain now that choosing to stop it is very difficult.

"So c'mon
Won't you give me something to remember?
Baby, shut your mouth and turn me inside out
Even though we couldn't last forever
Baby, you know what I want right now
Hit me one more time, it's so amazing
How you shook my world and flipped it upside down
You're the only one who ever drove me crazy
'Cause you know me inside out"

~~ During the chorus is when things go a bit...untamed. The high is kicking in from the addiction and there is a brief moment of numbness going on. The feeling is so good that the person wants to remember this forever. However all good things must come to an end. This person is talking to the addiction within them and commanding them to "hit" them one last time. However as this high dies down they realize that the addiction itself is their weakness that knows them "inside out."

Lady GaGa – Christmas Tree Lyrics 15 years ago
I think in this song the christmas tree = vagina.

"The only place you wanna be is underneath my Christmas tree" & "Light me up with me on top lets falalalalalalala"
- Obvious reference to sex.

"My Christmas tree is delicious"
- Oral sex.

Shakira – Men In This Town Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is about a girl moving to LA trying to make a name for herself. Like a lot of aspiring talented people do; they have to go to major cities such as New York and Los Angeles to get recognized by the big dogs. The phrase "Where are all the men in this town" may refer to the lifestyle in these cities, because it usually seems like it's strictly business with hardly any emotional outlets. There's no "men" just powerful beings in suits that may grant you a chance at fame.

But this girl seems to be somewhat innocent; an outcast of this lifestyle. Listen to the song's melody. It seems pretty dark compared to Shakira's other singles. I think this changes things up a bit. It seems like the girl may think she won't get the job, but she's qualified (in Hollywood's standards) because of her "fresh clean looks" and she's go the "skin" and "thing" most Hollywood contractors are looking for.

Alas the continuous saying of "suicide" at the end may be that whirlwind of an idea in the back of someone's mind that is warning us "Oh this choice is a bad one, think it over a second time before you make your move." Hollywood may seem like glitz and glamor, but in the end it usually ends in that star's suicide. Her innocence is killed off in the end, or that she will lose her physical life in the industry.

Well that's my interpretation of this song! :D

Timbaland – Kill Yourself Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is about how an artist in the industry may feel at times. Overwhelmed by all the fame, pressures, conformity, and coverage. The robotic voice that says "You're all going to die down here" kind of sounds like one's inner spirit warning us that the industry is no good so get out if you can. So one way to get out of course is "suicide". Not sure if the song is entirely this, but this song does have a sad kinda all-is-lost & f*ck-the world kind of attitude to it. Awesome song nonetheless!

Nelly Furtado – All Good Things Come to an End (feat. Chris Martin) Lyrics 15 years ago
"Well the dogs were barking at a new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon
And the sun was wondering if it should stay away for a day 'til the feeling went away
And the sky was falling on the clouds were dropping and
the rain forgot how to bring salvation
the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon so that they could die."

I love, love, love, LOVE this part of this song!
I like how the personifications of the sun, clouds, rain, and clouds sounded like a mini story, a sad tale, of a day that the sun and clouds became apathetic (like human beings) and decided to cause an apocalyptic scenario. This song is beautiful no matter what mood you're in though! :)

Cherry Pie is evidentially on some of GaGa's other tracks. I've never ate any Cherry Pie before, but it looks very sweet and tasty.
I'm guessing "Loving you is cherry pie" could mean loving someone feels good or fulfilling?

Lady GaGa – Telephone (feat. Beyonce) Lyrics 16 years ago
Fear of Commitment. (Life, Relationship, Job, etc.)

This song is obviously about someone who's choosing to avoid the person on the other side of the "Telephone". The telephone represents that person's thoughts, which in this case the Telephone is trying to tell that person that they should be doing something else other than slacking off. The caller who's being rejected could represent her boss, lover, or maybe a friend.

Sorry if that bit didn't make any sense. I'm not too good at explaining my thoughts. lol

Lady GaGa – Monster Lyrics 16 years ago
Fear of Obsession.
That's what I'm thinking this song is about, partially.
"He ate my heart" sounds like she's fallen quite deeply for that boy. Obsessed over him if you will.
Sometimes you tend to get very obsessed over something that new to you. (For example you just bought a DSi today and you're hooked on that DSi for days, maybe weeks because it fascinates you.) Explaining the "I've never seen one like that before...you amaze me" part.

Though I could be wrong. Those are just my two cents.
