Jason Mraz — The Dynamo of Volition (From an All Night Session) I’ve got the dynamo of volition The po-pole position Automatic transmission with lo-ow emissions I’m a brand new addition to the old edition With the love unconditional I’m a drama abolitionist Damn no opposition to my proposition Half of a man, half magician Half a politician, holding the mic Like ammunition, and my vision Is as simple as light Ain’t no reason we should be in a fight No demolition, get to vote To get to say what you like Procreation, composition Already written by itself Singing heck is for the people not belevin’ in gosh Good god Get ‘em up way high Can you gimme that high five? Good times Get ‘em way down low And gimme gimme that low doe Good God Bring ‘em back again Gimme gimme that high ten You’re the best definition of good intentions Will you answer a call if You do not know who is calling? I guess the whole point of it all is That we never know really I’m tryin’ to keep with the jonses Like waiting for guns and the roses To finish what we all suppose is The shit so silly That shit’s so silly That shit’s so silly It’s so silly Oh, fist knock bumping and wrist lock Twisting up a RizLa Kid Icarus on the transistor Nintendo gig been givin’ me the blister Bend over take it in the kisser Best friends a-hitting on my sister Try to tell them that they still a wisher Cuz she already got herself a mister And besides that’s gross to want to dis her D-d-d-d-d-didn’t I say that shit’s so silly? I do not keep up with statistics I do not sleep without a mistress I do not eat unless it’s fixed with Some kind of sweet like a licorice My home is deep inside the mystics I’m known to keep diggin’ on existence I’m holdin’ in the heat like a fishstick My phone it beeps because I missed it I do not answer the call when I do not know who you are then Making no sense of it all Say, can I get a witness? I’m only a boy in a story Just a hallucinatory Trippin’ on nothing there is Living in the wilderness With a tiger spot on my back Living the life of a cat I just wanna relax here And write another rap tune Driving off on a blind man’s bike I can say just what I like Oh nothing can stop you Can’t stop you, can’t stop you, can’t stop you Good job Get ‘em up way high Gimme gimme that high five Good times Get ‘em way down Gimme gimme that low dough Good God Bring ‘em back again Gimme gimme that high ten You’re the best definition of good intentions Abolitionist - A person who favors the abolition of any institution, especially slavery Emission - A substance discharged into the air, especially by an internal combustion engine. Who are these Joneses and where did this phrase come from? Come to find out, the phrase “keeping up with the Joneses” originated from an early 20th century comic strip of the same title by Arthur R. “Pop” Momand. The comic started in 1913 and ran for another 28 years. It was eventually adapted into musicals, movies, and eventually a catch phrase. The funny thing about the comic strip “Keeping up With the Joneses” is that the strip isn’t even about the Joneses. In fact the Joneses never made an appearance in the 28 years the strip ran. The main characters in the strip was the McGinises family consisting of Aloysius, the husband; Clarice, the wife; Julie, the daughter; and Belladonna, the housemaid. The Joneses were referred to now and then and the McGinises family tried to keep up with them Why Are We Keeping Up With The Jonses? We’ve all experienced keeping up with the Joneses moments at some time in our life. We see the next door neighbor buy a new car or hear from a co-worker who takes his family on trips to Europe every year and immediately we feel the burning desire to do the same. Why? First, we want to appear that we’re in the same socio-economic range as our peers. Second, we feel we deserve it. If a neighbor who sends his kids to same school that I send mine, shops at the same stores as me, and lives in the same are as me can afford to buy new things, then I should be able to as well. Fist Knock — from the tv show friends its their version of the middle finger, in many episodes, Ross and Monica resorted to an odd childhood gesture whereby they would knock their fists together with their thumbs pointing outward (as an alternative to "the finger"). Joey and Rachel started picking up this habit. Kid Icarus uses the same game engine as Metroid (which was released the same year). It even includes a Metroid enemy, though it is called "Komayto" in Kid Icarus. The game manual theorizes that Komayto may have come from another planet.[3] In volume 204 of Nintendo Power, an article was written about the game describing it as blending together elements from The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., and Metroid, stating that Pit can "jump like Mario, collect items like Link, and shoot enemies like Samus." RizLa+ (known commonly as "Rizla") is a brand of papers in which tobacco or marijuana is rolled to form cigarettes or joints, respectively. Holding in the heat like a fish stick — Barely hanging on to your life ect. Waiting for guns and the roses - He's talking about the new guns and roses album: chinese democracy (which twenty years later still hasn’t come out) Most people think dough = doe As in the scale- Doe re me fa so la ti doe. The first doe is called the low doe because it is lower then the high doe. |
