| I love the video to this song!! It reminds me of a bad acid trip or something. It's an amazing song and an amazing video though. Good stuff. I've recently listened to a lot of Mastodon because of this song...anyone have any references they could give me as to which album I should listen to? I listened to all of Return to Blood Mountain and found it very much pleasing. I'd like to hear more of them. | |

You people are all idiots. There are several comments on this song that clearly state what this song is ACTUALLY about. It's in his autobiography for Christ's sake!!! And ya know, I'm not totally close-minded to there being more to the song then just that...it could very well be metaphoric for something...but it's Gary Numan...he's CRAZY and a genius...so only he really knows what it's a methaphor to......but after reading his autobio. I'm really thinking it's just reminence of living in London and his car being his safe-haven. And as for nomoreblack's comment...you're just an idiot. Where the hell do you get your facts, so I can go shoot them in the face for being so ignorant. Dumbass. And txin...you are probably from Texas, hence the "witty" name...but you are also an ignorant dumbass (like most Texans I've met). Funny?? Do you not know of any other adjectives? Ya know, you other people are probably right about the break-up thing...but this song speaks to me a little different...so this is my take on it. I think it's about the woman he loves moving on, and not caring about him as much as she once did. The line, "I've been gone for so long, You just threw away the keys" is probably referring to him being on tour or something, and coming back, and she just doesn't have the same connection with him as she once did. Perhaps they were trying, but it just wasn't working...and she was thinking about leaving him. The lyrics "Please hold onto the memories, Before we really crash and burn" backs my theory, because that would imply that they haven't ended it quite yet. I've listened to this song repeatly today...and it gives me a little bit of strength...because I'm going through something just like this...and this is the perfect song for me and my other. I hope he does hold on to the memories...cause I really don't want it. :( |
