Yeah I think Codiee has it spot on, i was going through a patch with a girl and basically had those feelings of judgement from everyone. "If you want this, I do And I want this, but I can't break through And I can see you begin to glow" These lines make me begin to think it could potentially be about pregnancy and that sort of process. Obviously with the whole 'glowing' thing, and people from the outside, most likely from religious backgrounds, judging from their own perspective. They preach about love and forgiveness and how everyone is a sinner, bla bla bla, but then they're so quick to judge others and put themselves in the 'righteous' category. When he talks about how wants it, but he can't break through, maybe its like he wants the baby, but he's having trouble voicing this because of all the people on the outside. Which is why he's turning to his partner and asking for her to be strong, to help him come good. The rest of the song I feel is how he views it as such a good thing, he's having all these positive feelings with the girl (and potential baby) and how that's his dream, all that he needs and wants is for them to be in his life, and he doesn't need anything else. The last stanza about her being the only thing that's real is a reaffirmation of his feelings about the situation, he knows that his feelings for the girl etc are real and thats all he cares about, none of this *unreal* religion stuff. And i think the "We don't need to beg or steal" line just again confirms that they aren't doing anything wrong, just a couple of people in love. Anywho, may be WAY off, just my interpretation :) wheeeeeeeeeee |

at their concert in sydney murph simply said beforehand "this is a song about school" so yeah i reckon it's him reminiscing back to that time (but that was a bit obvious) :P maybe just about how much easier life is when you're a kid. so carefree and so oblivious to everything wrong in the world...that's what it means to me, he misses the simplicity... |

yeah some of the lyrics seem a little off... i love this song though, and the video clip is hilarious. so good but i found that bits of this song reminded me of the stuff from the first album...especially the song Weenie Beenie. :D |
