Cinderella – Nobody's Fool Lyrics 9 years ago
Should be pretty apparent if you read the lyrics. Here's the TL;DR

His girl would not reciprocate his affections.
He eventually became wealthy and she liked him.
He realized that she was just a money hungry bitch and kicked her ass to the curb.

Manowar – Warriors Of The World United Lyrics 12 years ago
As to the backing of the military, this is very true. I ordered a few of their albums from their website when I was in Afghanistan. I guess they noticed it was an APO mailing address and got an email from one of their Customer Service, letting me know they knocked 5 bucks off my order and sent me a bunch of stickers and such. They are my favorite band ever. Thank you MANOWAR.

Manowar – Swords In The Wind Lyrics 12 years ago
I'm in the SCA and have a Viking-Age Norse Persona. On days that I fight, this, amongst other MANOWAR songs has to be played. It's one of the anchors of my pre-battle pump up playlist.

"Vikings ships cross the sea
In cold wind and rain
Sail into the black of night
Magic Stars, our guiding light"

I hear this part and just imagine being a Viking on a raiding party. It's cold, it's wet, you're miserable, but you're about to kick some serious behind when you land (so much nice gold from those Northrumbians).

Manowar – The Warrior's Prayer Lyrics 14 years ago
I remember listening to this track on the flight to Afghanistan.
GODS OF WAR I CALL YOU, MY SWORD
IS BY MY SIDE.
I SEEK A LIFE OF HONR, FREE FROM
ALL FALSE PRIDE.
I WILL CRACK THE WHIP WITH A BOLD
MIGHTY HAIL.
COVER ME WITH DEATH IF I SHOULD
EVER FAIL.
GLORY, MAJESTY, UNITY
HAIL, HAIL, HAIL.

Manowar – Blood Brothers Lyrics 14 years ago
He speaks truth. In your darkest hour, in your darkest night, whatever life throws at you, even if it seems as if you've reached the end, a true friend (not someone who you are friends with in Facebook, or the guy down the street you wave to) will be there for you. It doesn't matter if it's giving you his last 20 bucks so you can go out and get diapers, pick you up at 2AM from a bar because your too drunk to drive, or just be your ear to listen or shoulder to cry on. Those are true friends and that's what a true friend is about.

Manowar – Heart Of Steel Lyrics 14 years ago
Cheezy battle hymn? Yeah. Brutal ballad? You bet your butt. For someone with Anxiety, PTSD, and Major Depressive Disorder surrounded by a bunch of Alpha-Dog personality types that thrive on attacking weakness, this song is a good mid day pick-me-up.

The Chorus is my own personal anthem. Call me lame.

Manowar – The Crown and the Ring (Lament of the Kings) Lyrics 14 years ago
The Chorus says:
"High and mighty alone we are kings
Whirlwinds of fire we ride
Providence brought us the crown and the ring
Covered with blood and our pride"
From this we can figure out that it's lonely at the top. He is the king and he fought hard to get there. I say it's fair to assume that since his crown and ring (for signing official decrees) are covered in blood (symbolic blood) he probably did some nefarious deeds in order to get to where he is.
Later it says
"Heroes await me
My enemies ride fast
Knowing not this ride's their last
Saddle my horse as I drink my last ale
Bow string and steel will prevail"
This is the last stand. Victory here is victory for his kingdom. Defeat here he looses at the best his throne and at worst his life and those of his best men.

George Jones – He Stopped Loving Her Today Lyrics 14 years ago
SeeI always thought that she had left him when they were young but instead of her attending his funeral I thought she attended his. "She came to see him one last time" as in she knew he was dying. "I went to see him just today Oh but I didn't see no tears All dressed up to go away First time I'd seen him smile in years" He attended the viewing, dressed up "to go away" and the mortician put a smile on his resting face.

Mike Reno And Ann Wilson – Almost Paradise (Love Theme From Footloose) Lyrics 15 years ago
Wow...American Classic and no comments. This is, IMO one of the greatest love songs EVER. There's no need for a meaning. It speaks for itself...though if it's "Almost Paradise" and they're "Knocking on Heaven's Door" then why can't they "Ask for More?"

Damn Yankees – High Enough Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is about being in love and being afraid to take it to the next level (can you take me high enough). Remember your first real love experience? You wanted it to work out so badly and you did everything you could to not lose that person. You love that person and don't want to drive them away by being too clingy, attached or whatever (didn't know what to say when you called me baby).

Manowar – Hail and Kill Lyrics 16 years ago
First and foremost, it's one of the most brutal songs...ever.

That being said, it's not about Nazis, Neo-Nazis, the racist skinhead movement (not all skins are racists, mind you). It's just a song about killing. I do love the lines "May your sword be wet like a young girl in her prime" and "Rape their women as they cry." Brutal. But it's not racists. If you can tell me that this band is racist, keeping in mind they recorded in their 1992 album "The Triumph of Steel" the song "Spirit Horse of the Cherokee" the lyric "Have to sing with pride, Let the white man die." in a song that praises the warrior spirit of the Cherokee (as well as other Native Americans such as the Sioux and Apache) and speaks quite negatively about white people/America imposing the Trail of Tears...if you can still tell me that the band is a racist band, I've got some ocean-front property in North Dakota that I'd like to sell you for real cheap.

Mercy Me – Homesick Lyrics 16 years ago
Howdy, folks.
This is my first post here. I come to this website all the time to read about song meanings. I finally decided to join so that I can comment on this song. You see, today I found out that we lost our youngest child. It was just a surprise miscarriage. It hit me really hard. I'm in Afghanistan and my wife is back home and my command won't send me home on emergency leave. So I'm homesick for real. One of the things that the Chaplain said to me is that in addition to grieving and feeling normal emotions, I need to be comforted that even though it hurts, I will see my son or daughter in heaven. He was a big help, his wife lost 2 children and is unable to have kids so he really could relate to me. So I'm homesick because I can't go home to comfort my wife when she needs me the most. I'm homesick because my daughters, especially the oldest don't fully understand what happened. I'm homesick because I can't wait to get called home so I can see my baby son or daughter. This song was just a song that used to just click skip when it played on my MP3 player. I don't even know how many times I've listened to that song today. When I close my eyes, I can't see his or her face, but I can imagine what the baby would look like. I've never been more homesick than now.
