| I believe the song is about how he loves her but had to let her go. He wishes he didn't hurt her and hopes that it's not a permanent hurt. The way he says he couldn't make a sound after slamming the door makes me think he didn't know exactly what to say but he knew what he had to do. He had to close that door no matter how he felt about her. He feels very upset and hopes she can forgive him. She meant so much to him but it won't work out for one reason or another and it's hurting him more than he can really say or express. If he was a song he could say what he wanted without feeling like dying or crying and could express exactly how he feels so that she could know exactly what he feels and is thinking. | |
