I think as much as the radio station overplay Daughtry, No Surprise is definitely the one that will NEVER get old. It's definitely about a relationship where two people love each other and had an amazing period of time together, but at times just did not get along and wanted to get out. "It's no surprise I won't be here tomorrow I can't believe that I stayed till today There's nothing here in this heart left to borrow There's nothing here in this soul left to say" It is just too late, all the bad things about their relationship have just built up and he can't take it anymore. I agree with you 100 percent. While this song could be related to anyones life, i believe that for me it relates best to a relationship or boyfriend. My boyfriend and I loved each other more than anything, and we still do, but we're nothing more than best friends. I want to be more, but we broke up to experience new people so we would know what kidns of people we like best for our futures. "May angels lead you in" I love him so much, I want him to be happy before I think of my own happiness. I just hope whatever happens in the future it is good for him. "There's no one in town that I know, you gave us somewhere to go" We spent all day talking, 3/4 of our week together. After we broke up I saw him less and less as time went on. We spent so much time together when we broke up I only had one or two close friends left, my closest I stayed in touch with. "And if you were with me tonight, I'd sing to you just one more time. A song for a heart so big, God wouldn't let it live" He loved it when I'd sing to him, but I'd always be too shy. So if we could have one more night, I would just for him. | I think this is about a relationship and the male has a low self esteem because of how he was raised. His parents never showed him love, so he never learned how to love another. He is used to being alone, which she thinks will get lonely. He thinks that he is bringing her down and she deserves better, but she knows that he is wrong because they love each other, he just needs to be more confident. She sees a "burning beacon", some sort of signal that makes her think, or know, that they are right for each other and once he realizes their love, they will go far together. | |

i cant believe nobody has commented..this song is amazing. i believe that its about a summer romance and he feels his best lying next to her.
