I love how a song can take on a personal meaning. This song, for me at this point in my life, isn't about a break up at all (though I can see how it definitely could be). My boyfriend is in the military and he always reminds me of him. "The touch of you is hard to remember but like that touch I know no other" --Deployments and such can separate two people for a long amount of time. After awhile, it's hard to remember how someone feels, but you KNOW how it feels. You know it can never compare to anyone else. "We danced in the risk of each other. Would you like to dance around the world with me?" --You start a relationship with someone whose world is constantly changing, constantly moving and you are taking a risk. My boyfriend has been in the Philippines, Japan, Bangladesh and Iraq...we are definiteluy dancing around the world with one another. It reminds me of when he originally asked me to continue this relationship when we both knew he was about to deploy. "Do what you will always Walk where you like, your steps... Do as you please I'll back you up" --I will always, without fail back him up. Whether he chooses to remain in the military or separate, I will support him. |
