The Bled – With An Urgency Lyrics 15 years ago
it sounds more like her might be saying "but I believed you when you told me I was wrong." instead of "ruined"
... or it could just be me...

as for the maning, i agree for the most part with RU12
"Hey you, young love, don't let them cut out your tongue. It's only over when we choose to (forget) them.
Give me your hand when no one else understands, the day the hostages start making demands.
We gave ourselves when there was nobody else. We found what we were looking for in the summer. "
That's pretty straightforward... the hostages (as RU12 said) being the people who are hostages of their self conciousness, not being themselves. They start making these demands as to how she should be to belong to that certain group, so he tells her to take his hand because he has no demands like that, she can just be herself with him

i'm just not sure what to think of "I never begged to be immune, to love a heart so out of tune, but I believed you when you said I was (wrong)."

Birds of Tokyo – Plans Lyrics 15 years ago
I agree that this song is about meeting someone for the first time and then liking them more and more as you get to know them, and then wondering if you guys actually could have something togehter, and i can completely relate to this at the moment.

But the lines "We made plans to kiss the sun at night, Hopeless dreamers, hopeless types" at the beginning give a sense of hopelessness when it comes to love
--> people dream of the impossible (kissing the sun at night)which is probably 'true love', them being the "hopeless dreamers, hopeless types".

they know it can't be done yet they still dream of it... and here comes this person that you meet and you can "read their thoughts" right away, and in all your hopelessness you think that you could actually have something with this person, that it "could feel right"

And you don't know where this is going but you're just waiting for them to "make [their] move" so that you can "dance to [their] rythm". And then the "masks" come off as you really build something together.

... just a more "in-depth" thought, since i am absolutely obsessed with this song

30 Seconds to Mars – Buddha For Mary Lyrics 15 years ago
I could go into microdetail and give my opinion on every single line, but i'll just go with the most repeated ones cuas ei'm kinda short on time... this song just REALLY caught my attention:

My take on this is that it's underlying theme is saying that all religion is exactly the same... and to me (probably cause i'm an atheist) they're all just full of corruption..

'Buddha for Mary, here it comes'--> one religion to replace another, just wait for it and Buddhism, just like christianity these days, will become corrupt and interfere in matters it shouldn't. Personally, people that don't like christianity usually go for the opposite end with Buddhism, thinking it's not based on one god and that it's so pure and different, but just wait for it. (Don't get me wrong, i'm not criticizing religious people, believe what you want, just keep it to yourselves)...

"Don't they all just look the same inside?"--> again... them all just being the same in the end..
HOWEVER, this line could also mean that all religion has the same theme to it: being that there is a higher power that we do not understand... now one can say we must torture ourselves to get closer to 'Him", another can say to never even think of killing a fly... they're all just saying the exact same thing
what's cool is that this can also relate to one of the very first lines
"A silent song that's in your words"---> "they're" all silently saying the same thing with different words... so i think that they should just stop thinking one's better than the other and STOP FIGHTING!

......again, just my opinion :)

Cancer Bats – French Immersion Lyrics 15 years ago
i agree with the quebec idea... even though it may sound like an odd subject for a son... but i guess not for someone living in ontario.. i guess people may feel more of a seperation around there...?
this song could be interpreted in so many ways but i think this is the closest, i just don't get where the blood references come in, or the reckless life. but everything else fits in

Cancer Bats – Zed's Dead, Baby Lyrics 15 years ago
hmm.. since no one's posted anything i guess i'll try
keep in mind it's my first comment here :)

it could be about some people in high school that are having a really hard time, probably from being picked on or bullied (high school can be really rough as we all know) and this person's just telling himself that one day it'll be better and that once he's out of that hell he's never coming back to it.
but i don't know where this part comes in...
"Better off dead
She told me I'd be better off dead
She swore that I'd be better off dead
She screamed that I'd be better off, dead and buried"
.. maybe some chick telling the person that he's a loser and that he'd be better off dead?

any one else?

that's a good point

but it could also be what Wambs said and that in Born and Raised they may not be speaking about believing specifically in religion or in a God, it could be about just simply having something in life to lead you, basically a goal, a picture of your future, something to look forward to, or something like that
