ok i cant break the whole thing down, but in my opinion, the song is about living life, and slowly walking closer to death. if you read the last paragraph, its basically about a person walking up a stairway towards their death/desitiny. the line before the last paragraph reads "your stairway lies on the whispering wind." the stairway being your lifes road, the whispering wind being what blew on onto that road. "and as we wind on down the road," (the road of life) "our shadows taller than our soul" (imagine walking into "the light" as becoming one with death. the closer you walk to the light, the taller your shadow gets) thats my interpretation anyway, let me know if you think otherwise, i think theres more to it than what i gave |
