Actually...when asked about Hooker with a Penis...the song is NOT ABOUT a specific converstaion with a Tool fan...its an imaginary converstaion Maynard is having based on his own artisitic fear that with Tool's monetary success...that people..their fans...will believe they have sold out...I bet anyone who has heard that song has though twice about confronting Maynard that they have sold out |

I think this song is very multi-layered...I think it deals with maynards abuse as a child....his own abuse of drugs...the contemplation of having his son or having an abortion...afraid that he will now become the abuser....Once I read that Hooker with a Penis isnt about a specific person or event...Maynard wrote the song based on HIS OWN FEAR of his fans thinking they had sold out....so I nthink H is written from the point of Maynards own fear of becoming a father and having to change...the fear of change |
