| Taylor Swift – Better Than Revenge Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I love this song. What I really want to know is what she's saying in the background. Obviously, at the beginning she's saying 'now go stand in the corner and think about what you did'. And then after she sings 'no amount of vintage dresses gives you dignity' she says 'think about what you did'. But then before the last chorus, I can't tell what she's saying. And in the last chorus, to me it sounds like this 'she's not a saint and she's not what you think (no), she's an actress (you know) whoa (she deserves this)'. Does anybody else hear this, or is it just me? | |

| Taylor Swift – The Story of Us Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I haven't got the CD yet (not in stores! argh!) so this might be a stupid question, but how can the secret message be '2009 cmt awards' when there aren't any numbers in the song? | |
| Jonas Brothers – Much Better Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Just gonna put it out there - Taylor Swift referenced this song in her new song 'Better Than Revenge'. She says 'let's hear the applause, show him how much better you are'. |
|
| Taylor Swift – Haunted Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Ok, I'm probably wrong, but is this related to "Breathe"? Lyrics for breathe: And I can't breathe without you, but I have to. Lyrics for Haunted: Can't breathe whenever you're gone. It seems like in Breathe, she's ready to move on. This seems like before she's realised that, so she's still wondering what's happened. |
|
| Taylor Swift – Speak Now Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| When I first read the lyrics, that's exactly who I thought of - Hayley and Josh! I mean, obviously Hayley's with Chad now, blah blah blah, but Taylor could have just been... I don't know, using her imagination I guess. (Just to be clear, I'm not saying that Hayley's still in love with Josh, they're both happy, so we should let them be.) | |
| Paramore – The Only Exception Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
What I think it means has already been said, so I won't go into detail, but basically it's Hayley finding this one guy who's made her believe - or at least, start to believe - in love again. What I want to know is, is it about Josh or Chad? Because she might have written it a while ago, like when she was still dating Josh. Or if it's about Chad, then isn't she saying that she never really loved Josh? |
|
| Paramore – The Only Exception Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
She's saying that when she was younger, she promised herself she wouldn't sing songs about love if she didn't have proof that it existed, but now she's realised that this guy is the only exception - the only guy she's loved. At least, that's what I think it means. And I think 'curse at the wind' just means he was yelling/angry, but he wasn't yelling at a particular person, if that makes sense. |
|
| Paramore – The Only Exception Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Actually, those cards were all sent in by the fans :) So it wasn't Hayley saying 'be mine Josh'. | |
| Hayley Williams – Teenagers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I wouldn't say in EVERY song she's written. Brighter, for example, was written about their friend who died. And When It Rains is about a friend who committed suicide. | |
| Hayley Williams – Teenagers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| So I think we can all agree that it's about Josh. | |
| Paramore – Playing God Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I love this song, and agree with what a lot of people have already said about it. I can't wait to see what their video for this song will be like! |
|
| Paramore – My Heart Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Do you know of any specific interviews/videos where they said this (that Josh wrote the song)? | |
| Paramore – All I Wanted Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Did that really happen or did you just make that up? | |
| Paramore – For a Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Some people were wondering about the title, so I'm going to start with that. To me, the title means that the person always thought they were a pessimist (looked on the negative side of things) but then after this person let them down they realised how much hope and faith they'd put into that person. As other people have said, it's basically about someone who you believed in ("I put my faith in you, so much faith") and then they let you down ("And then you just threw it away"). It could be about Jeremy or Hunter leaving, but I don't know about that. Another way of thinking of it is that Hayley wrote it about Josh and how they broke up, although this probably isn't right because the song was written by Hayley AND Josh, and surely she would've written it with someone else if she was so angry with him? Anyway, that's what I think it means. |

| Panic! at the Disco – Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Actually, my interpretation of 'harlequin girls' was those girls who wear way too much make up - like harlequins. Probably wrong though :) | |
| Dean Geyer – Unforgettable (Neighbours Song) ft. Caitlin Stasey Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Love this song so much! But some of the lyrics aren't right... for example, it's 'they say i've got your eyes, you still had so much to see' - referring to when people say 'oh, you've got your mother's eyes' or whatever, and the 'you still had so much to see' part makes me think that the person died young. On Neighbours, this song was supposed to be about Rachel's mother, who died. |
|
| Paramore – Careful Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
To me, this song is like... well, at the beginning, Hayley's with Chad, but she's pushing him away. Then the verse is him telling her 'you can't be too careful anymore'. Then the second verse, Hayley's talking to Josh, telling him not to be like she was. The second chorus is her telling Josh. The last bit is Hayley telling herself, 'i'm going to free myself, and that's a good thing'. Probably way off, but that's what I think at the moment :) |
|
| Taylor Swift – Jump Then Fall Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
To me, this song has a slightly different meaning. I went out with this guy a little over a year ago, and I ended up breaking up with him. Now, we're best friends, but he just told me that he really likes me again. The thing is, I'm not sure if I like him back, so I'm not sure if I should go out with him. He was really hurt when we broke up, and I don't want to go out with him, then realise soon after that I made a mistake and have to break up with him again, you know? I don't know what I should do. So to me, this is what he'd be singing to me. Taylor Swift really does have a song for every mood :) |
|
| New Found Glory – It Ain't Me Babe (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I love this song! Johnny Cash was a great country singer. To me, this song is basically the doubts you have about yourself - you're saying to the other person that you're not good enough for them, that you'll only let them down. | |
| New Found Glory – Kiss Me (Sixpence None The Richer cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Wow, I love this song! And I love how Hayley Williams appears in it, cuz I love Paramore too! I thought that I'd never heard of New Found Glory before (apart from as the band that Hayley's bf is in) but then when I heard this I realised that I actually had heard them sing this song before. Like others have said, it's about that perfect kiss :) |

| Paramore – We Are Broken Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
On the Final Riot live CD, they talk about Love146 right before they sing this song. Love146 is an organisation dedicated to stopping human trafficking and slavery. It's a really great cause, and people need to get behind it. Go to www.love146.org. Trust me. Once you read about the girl known as #146, you'll think differently about the world. I love Paramore, and I think it's so great that they wrote a song about this. |
|
| Paramore – Ignorance Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
To me, this song is about a person who you used to be best friends with, but you've both changed and suddenly she starts blaming you for everything. Actually, this happened to me about six months ago. I was best friends with a girl for eight years, ever since I first met her at preschool. We were in a group for a few years where I basically got paid out every single break, constantly, for doing nothing at all, and she never once stood up for me. Eventually, I got fed up, found some new friends, and left. And my 'best friend' didn't even sit with me. She didn't once say sorry, or ask me if I was ok, or anything. But then this new group sort of formed, and we were both in it. By then I'd forgiven her, but after a while she just started getting angry at me all the time and blaming me for stuff. I started hanging out with a new group who didn't pay me out, and she called them 'freaks' and 'weird' when she'd never even talked to them. I went out with a guy, and the whole time she told me "Oh you know that (my other best friend) was talking to me the other day, and she thinks you've turned into this total bitch. But I don't think that." And my other best friend was saying to me 'Yeah, you know that (first best friend) was complaining the other day about how much you've changed ever since you started going out with him." And then at a sleepover when they thought I was asleep, they started telling everyone that they hated the guy I went out with (even though he was in our group for more than a year and they talked to him every day) but they never told me that. So basically, whenever I see her, I feel as though I'm talking to a total stranger. And she does the same. But whenever she's upset or needs to talk to someone (or is feeling bored at breaks) she comes back to me, thinking that I'll be ready to talk to her about why 'everybody hates her' and blah, blah, blah. Honestly, I'm so over it. Sorry for the long rant, but that's just what this song reminds me of. Especially this part: This is the best thing that could've happened Any longer and I wouldn't have made it It's not a war, no It's not a rapture I'm just a person, but you can't take it The same tricks that, that once fooled me They won't get you anywhere I'm not the same kid from your memory Well, now I can fend for myself Yeah, anyways, I really like this song. It's the type of song you can yell at the top of your lungs, adn it makes you feel better :) |
|
| Paramore – You Ain't Woman Enough (Loretta Lynn cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's about a woman who has a boyfriend who loves her, and is telling this other woman that her boyfriend will never leave her for this other woman, so basically piss off. | |
| All Time Low – Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don't) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I like how in the second last chorus he's like 'damned if i do ya, damned if i do ya'. It's probably not supposed to, but to me this seems like the point where he's made his decision. I really like this song; actually, I like all of their songs, old or new. Go ATL! | |
| The Beatles – All You Need Is Love Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song is so fantastic. The Beatles are definitely the best band who ever lived. Even though it's a fairly happy song, it makes me cry because we live in a world full of war and hatred and greed, but if everyone could just realise that 'all you need is love', the world would be a much better and happier place. My friend said it the best - the meaning of life is love, because without it, we'd all kill ourselves. All you need is love. |
|
| The Beatles – All You Need Is Love Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I don't think it was 7/4. I mean, by all rights it could be. But to me it would make more sense it it were a 4/4 bar and then a 3/4 bar, repeated again and again. The accents seem like that. But then again, just making it 7/4 would let there be a lot less time signature changes, so maybe you're right :) | |
| The Veronicas – I Am Australian Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I love this song. It makes me proud to be an Australian, and even though the words are simple, they say so much. We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We share a dream and sing with one voice I am, you are, we are Australian It's saying that it doesn't matter if you were born there originally, or if you came there on the ships from England, or if you moved there from somewhere else. I am, you are, we are Australian. Go Australia! |
|
| Paramore – Franklin Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I swear that sometimes they say 'Cuz you remind me of a time...' rather than 'Could you remind me of a time'. That's what it says in the booklet, anyhow :) | |
| All Time Low – Umbrella Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Love this version way better than Rihanna's version. I have this friend called Ella, who when she first heard this song loved it, but after a while hated it because whenever people sung it they'd always put extra emphasis on the 'Umbrella, ELLA, ELLA, eh' bit. Anyways, we used to be best friends, but stuff happened, and now we're not. But whenever I hear this song, it's like I'm singing it to her. When the sun shines, we'll shine together Told you I'll be here forever Said I'll always be your friend Took an oath, I'mma stick it out 'till the end Now that it's raining more than ever Told you we'll still have each other You can stand under my umbrella You can stand under my umbrella Ella, ella, eh, eh, eh Under my umbrella Ella, ella, eh, eh, eh Particularly the part where it says 'Said I'll always be your friend'. Because I think somewhere along the way she's forgotten that part. So to me, this song is saying I'll always be there for you. |

| Ricki-Lee Coulter – Love Is All Around Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Girl suddenly realises that she's in love with her friend. | |
| Stephanie Mcintosh – Overcome Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's about liking someone but not saying anything, and then regretting not saying anything 'I should have let it show'. 'Looking for someone i almost knew' she could've gotten to know him, but everytime she could've said something, she didn't. | |
| Stephanie Mcintosh – Mistake Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Yeah, it's on my iPod. It's been almost three years since frisle made that comment - about a month off - and I still listen to it. I even still have her album :) | |
| Stephanie Mcintosh – God Only Knows Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's about not being able to let go of a person. Love this song! | |
| Stephanie Mcintosh – A Change Is Coming Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's saying that she's thinking that her life is finally going to turn around and be a lot happier and better. She's happy now, she's 'reborn' and ready for whatever the future throws at her. She says that the reason is 'you'. | |
| Backstreet Boys – Who Do You Love Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Basically, this guy is in love with a girl, and he wants to know who she loves, him or the other guy with the fancy car. | |
| Backstreet Boys – Poster Girl Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| To me, Julie is a girl who lives for now, and doesn't stop to think about possible consequences. The speaker has fallen for her, and she basically tells him that she doesn't want to be in a relationship because nothing lasts forever, and you can't be certain that you'll have a tomorrow. So then the guy starts to believe her, and thinks 'what good is tomorrow without a guarantee?' and he basically starts to believe all the stuff she was saying. And then he says to her 'let me be your guarantee' meaning that he'll be her guarantee of a tomorrow. Ok, that doesn't really make a lot of sense :) and i kind of repeated myself. But yeah, hopefully that isn't too difficult to understand. | |
| Simple Plan – Save You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| So I get that this is about Pierre's brother who had cancer and got over it. But to me, this song means much more, because people get cancer, and then they get over it. But there are some people who don't get over it. There are some people who get cancer and die. This happened to my grandfather four years ago, and everytime I hear this song I still cry. We were never that close, but... well, it's complicated, but the point is that I saw him when he was at his sickest in the hospital, and it kills me that he's not here now. I really need him, but he's not here... I'd do anything to hear his voice again, you know? Even his lame jokes. I can't even remember his voice anymore... | |
| All Time Low – Vegas Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Exactly. Just... no. | |
| All Time Low – Remembering Sunday Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I agree with you except for the 'I'm over you now' bit. She says that while she's talking about being at home in the clouds, etc, and I can't help but wonder if it means over as in above him? Anyway, that's what I got from it. | |
| Spectacular – Don't Tell Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Love it! But is it 'no wrong moves cuz I just don't have the time' or 'no more rules cuz I just don't have the time'? I can't tell. | |
| Paramore – Hear You Me (Jimmy Eat World cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Such a sad song... but also nice, in a way. Reminds me of my grandfather, who died four years ago. I still miss him, and there's so many things I want to say to him, but I can't. I never said thank you... and now I'll never get another chance. But I know that he can see me, because he's with the angels, looking down on me. I'm not into any particular religion, btw, that's just what I like to believe. It makes me feel better. | |
| Taylor Swift – Breathe Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Man, this song is so good, but it's so sad... Even though I know it wasn't meant to be a breakup song, this still reminds me of when I broke up with my boyfriend. I didn't want to, because I knew how much it would hurt him, but I knew that I had to because I couldn't stay with him if I didn't like him that way anymore. Never wanted this Never wanna see you hurt Every little bump in the road I tried to swerve But people are people And sometimes it doesn't work out Nothing we say Is gonna save us from the fallout To me, the chorus is how hard it was for me afterwards. I confided in him, told him everything. If I was upset or sad or whatever, he was the one I would talk to. Then, suddenly, that was gone, and I was left feeling all alone, cuz my friends at the time weren't very supportive of me (they didn't like that I'd been going out with someone). And we know it's never simple Never easy Never a clean break No one here to save me You're the only thing I know Like the back of my hand And I can't breathe without you But I have to breathe without you But I have to Then, the next bit is sort of the same feeling. Afterwards, I had no one, and even though he was my boyfriend, he was my best friend too. And we know it's never simple Never easy Never a clean break No one here to save me, oh I can't breathe without you But I have to breathe without you But I have to Breathe without you But I have to Then, finally, is what I said to him, but it still didn't make everything right. Sorry, sorry Sorry, sorry Sorry, sorry Sorry This song is perfect when you don't want to listen to something happy and upbeat. It makes things a bit more bearable for me. |

| Sweetbox – Cinderella Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Yeah, this is what I think: Cinderella are you really that happy Cinderella are you really that lucky I wanna know is your life like you dreamed She's wondering if 'happily-ever-afters' are really that great anyway. And she's thinking 'did Cinderella ever want her life to turn out like that?' Here I am Trying to find my way I've kissed so many frogs but I've never found a prince I think they lied I was promised much more than this Where's my happy-ever-after? She's saying that she's kissed so many guys, but they've never turned out to be the right one. Fairy tales give you promises that everyone finds their prince charming, and she hasn't found hers so she thinks they lied. They promised her a happy ending, and she hasn't gotten it. Cinderella is the queen of a kingdom Cinderella got the dream she was dreamin' I wanna know where is my happy end Cinderella got a prince and a kingdom Cinderella got the dream she was dreamin' I wanna know where is my fairy-tale? Now she's saying that Cinderella got her happy ending, so where's hers? Something's wrong 'cause all my glass shoes break And no one's ever helped this damsel in distress To hell with this I'm not gonna waste more time I won't wait to find prince charming Now she's saying that she's not going to wait around anymore, she's going to go out and live her life. This is just what I think :) |
|
| Daphne and Celeste – U.G.L.Y. Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Seeing as how happy this song makes me feel, I find it rather ironic that it's just a bunch of insults all thrown together. I don't know, something about singing 'U.G.L.Y. you ain't got no alibi, you ugly! Eh, hey, you UGLY!' at the top of my lungs makes me feel better. | |
| Paramore – My Heart Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think it is extremely ignorant of you to call people who believe in a God or religion 'stupid'. I'm not religious - actually, I think of myself as an agnostic - but I still respect everyone else's right to believe. In fact, the members of Paramore are religious, but so what? Why should you judge people based on their religion? It's people like you who are stupid. | |
| Paramore – My Number One Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I love this song. I especially love the chorus: Oh oh oh oh... Oh I would never admit that I Oh oh oh oh... No I would never admit that I Oh oh oh oh... Oh I would never admit that I Oh oh oh oh... Cuz every time she gets so close to saying 'I love you' but then she always stops at the last second. This reminds me of what a lot of people do. They want to tell a guy that they like them, but then they stop at the last second. |
