Along with many other collective soul songs i feel it has a christian meaning. just to get it started ill say it sounds like a bad experience in a legalistic church and its referring to the preacher maybe being too caught up in himself and preaching condemnation for all without really getting the point. |

OK lets throw this one out there. He has become very upset with the world and the direction its going (has all kindness gone?) to a point of overwhelming. Much like Elijah when he asks God to take him away. And when he gets up on the building, or however you see it, he realizes that it is only the world he (emphasis on he don't know how to do italics on this site) knows. What God has in store from him is so great. I find it hard to ignore the Christian meanings in almost all collective soul songs, especially if you listen to the first CD. |
