Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton – The Lottery Lyrics 16 years ago
I think its about the idea of sexualizing your image in order to sell more records.
"sexual suicide". There's obviously a lot of pressure on women to do this in the music industry, and a lot of women who would not make it unless they did that.

"Boredom will die, ears will bleed"
When people finally accept an artist's music regardless of her sex appeal, it will be a revolution of great music around the world.

She may be telling her friend Heather not to worry about her struggle, that she's going to "roll the dice" and see if she can make it in the industry without caving to that pressure.

The last verse is about the need to feel loved, and what people will do in order to get that, even if it's the wrong kind of attention. She finds it immature "like little kids", and thinks its an ass-backward way to produce music "pathetic, impossible".

Travis – Love Will Come Through Lyrics 16 years ago
I have listened to this song for a long time, since I heard it on the Moonlight Mile soundtrack...what a great movie!

Anyways, I always thought it was about somebody trying to convince the one he loves to take that leap of faith. He knows there's something there, but he's gotta open the door and tell her how he feels. It always seemed like that moment of truth when you lay it all out and you're waiting to hear her answer.

David Gilmour – There's No Way Out of Here Lyrics 16 years ago
I kind of took it from the perspective of falling in love. Once you're in, you've gotta see it through, and there's no guarantee that it will end well. But I'm sure it was written about life in general.
