I agree with Roosey about prostitution. I think the third verse is about suicide. "They pulled me half-alive out of the sea." He/she tried to drown him/herself but was saved before they died. "I feel as if I've been when you have been." I can imagine this being told to another person who is feeling suicidal, explaining that they are not alone. |
