This is such an amazing song, clearly about Jesus. I think it should be written like this He emptied out his lungs Crying "It is finished" Since it's talking about John 19:30. Jesus's last words as he died (or emptied his lungs) were "It is finished." |

This is clearly Lecrae mocking the typical person who claims they're just doing their own thing and they can justify it, because they think that all churches are like the modern world makes them out to be. It better not be no real church Real saints, who pray hard And let me rock my snapback With the 501s and the J's on It better not be no real folk Who don't think that they better than you Straight or gay, drunk and high They walk through the cold and weather wit chu Nah we don't wanna see that Cause that might mean "life change" This is what people generally feed into their minds. They believe that there are no "real churches" or "real saints, etc" that "Don't think they're better than you" when actually, there are. There are plenty of real people out there who follow Christ by loving and NOT judging. Just because you haven't seen them doesn't mean they don't exist. If you go to a church that you don't feel comfortable, then go to another one until you find one that fits you. Everyone is different and needs a different connection. People believe that following Christ will mean a "life change," as if they would have to give up everything they love and live in a hole. So they typically seek reasons to not follow Christ so they can feel at ease about themselves. |

Marinas is pretty much dead on about the meaning. Check out Matthew 24. I think he got the idea of this song from this chapter and or The Book of Revelations which says that the sixth seal is when the sun turns black "The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth" In Matthew 24:9 Jesus says "the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light" So I believe when he says he "fear[s] a world without the sun" he's saying he fears the world that will exist after the end has begun. |

wow... you all fail.. The song is from the Devils view calling out God and talking trash to him. "They call me the son of the morning." Lucifer is called the Son of the Morning. "I am the lord of air." Lucifer is the lord of air. "I damn your son for stealing my light." He hates Jesus (Gods son) because he died for our sins, hence stealing his light. "I can mound all your fallen past the clouds as they roll in, and when I do I will claim your throne through all these cowards you call your sons." Simple enough but I'll explain. The Devil will take Gods fallen children. "cowards you call your sons" - Human beings (God calls us his children) If you don't believe me ask Micah yourselves when they play your city..Or simply go wath the youtube video where he explains the albums lyrics. |
