Hah, funny you should say that, because he says 'turn my love 'round'. Which makes no sense with stove. even if it wasn't, who would use the expression, 'like a stove, I'll turn my love down' Therefore it makes more sense for it to be stone, or at a stretch, stalk, (ya'know, because flowers actually turn round on their stalks?) Or are at least easier to turn then stoves. |

To me, it sounds like he gets dumped in the first verse. 'Oh god, Oh god, she's really done it now' - He knew the relationship was ending already. 'Coked up, her body's all spun around' She's walking away, and she's crazy for it. 'And seeing her just isn't something I can stomach' -He's hating her for what she did, and can't stand to see her. Pre Chorus - Him telling himself that he won't put up with all the shit she put him through 'This ain't a love song...' He's serious, he doesn't want her back, he's not just hung up about being dumped. 'So tell me baby, pretty baby, that this house is not a graveyard' - 'So Tell me that our love isn't dead. I don't believe you.' 'Tell me how to stay strong and carry you home,' - 'Tell me how I can forgive you' 'Over corpses of her long-lost fathers and her unborn daughters' - The life they could have had. Which she killed. 'God dammit, I just can't do it alone' - pretty obvious. Second Verse - Him trying to tell himself he's better off, she was just a whore anyways. Third Verse - Him telling himself, that he did nothing wrong, because it's easier to blame her. Wow, that dragged on, and it's only a guess. |
