| The Avett Brothers – Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise Lyrics

Simply sensational song. I think that the Avett Brother's have it right here when they talk about law. People who have different moral compasses that clash with the letter of society are often looked at with scorn and fear. Decide what to be and go be it. |

| Jason Mraz – Details In The Fabric Lyrics

It's the beginning (the answering machine) that gets me in this. It's just so real. I'm starting a new job at the moment which is really getting to me, I'm hurting because of girls and it's Bushwalla's words that really get me. I think the words aren't "at the end of the day" but rather "it finally hit me...". It's just genuine honesty, when you're so sick of getting up every morning and going about your day and going to bed and starting it all over again. |

| Belle & Sebastian – Piazza, New York Catcher Lyrics

It's referring to Ferdinand of William Shakespare's 'The Tempest' who meets Prospero's daughter Miranda after being shipwrecked on the island to which father and daughter were previously banished to. He falls in love with her immediately, and it's Prospero's key back to society. |

'I know Saint Peter won't call my name' was my first thought when I heard 'I just want to be there when the lightning strikes, and the Saints come marching in'. Seems like Chris is in a state of Religious uncertainty. |

Like a lot of you here, I came across this track (as opposed to skipping it again) when I was going through a hard time with a girl. This is so right, and I'm lost. |

I believe the point is that a mind such as his, as brilliant and rare as they are, is as susceptible to love and would have throw everything (beliefs) out the window for it - just as we do. |

A girl called Miriam screwed me over recently, not ever taking her life(!) but I downloaded this album literally 5 minutes after and laughed out loud when I saw this song name come up. |

| Josh Groban – Home To Stay Lyrics

Love the imagery Josh creates with his voice and tones. 'This spring you'll draw, canals and frescoed walls'. You can just imagine thinking of your dream girl sitting whistfully on a grassy bank in Europe on a sunny day with a sketchpad...
He's amazing |

| Jack Johnson – Only The Ocean Lyrics

I see this song as less morbid than many. For me, he feels like the ocean is a place you can go when you're fed up with the world. It's equal, doesn't discriminate and just washes around you |

To me it seems like a relationship with people you love ending temporarily. It can be lovers, family or friends and it's all about trying to make the moments last |

| Josh Pyke – Variations Lyrics
|
I love this song, in contrast to almost all of Josh's other songs, this isn't really about the words but more the sound of the melody. Not to say the others aren't all awesome though!
Well it wont hurt nobody if they dont know
No, it wont hurt nobody if they dont know
We could see it burning in the rear view mirror
But we cant stop now
We turned the radio on
It's almost like they're careless drivers and they've hit something on the road, they see it and think it's too late to stop so they turn the radio on to ditract themselves from the scene and pretend it never happened.
And in later conversations
Well never mention car rides
It never happened!
The rest is hard to decipher for me. But still I think it's deeper than my interpretation! |
