I think everyone'z interpretation can be correct: Adoption interpretation Vs. God interpretation I've heard it said that our understanding of Christianity can only extend as far as our understanding of adoption. Adoption is one of the best examples we have of the strength of Love and the differences it can make in any one single life. "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”" Romans 8:14-15 (ESV) Song about Jesus & God Vs. NOT about Jesus & God This song obviously takes an unconditional love approach, it's evident because of its beauty, which we can all agree on. Most Christians get their strongest understanding of unconditional love through what God did for them through Jesus Christ(John 3:16 :D), But people outside of Christianity can also understand unconditional love. There is no idea more beautiful than that of being loved no matter our failings. We all CRAVE it so desperately that we are willing to look anywhere and everywhere for it! Which is where the interpretation of boyfriends and girlfriends comes in. Our deep seeded desire for love is found everywhere and in everything we do. Music is over-saturated with the idea of love and finding it. All to often we try to find completion in another person. I think it impossible for anyone person to complete another if they are not complete themselves(but that is something best learned than told). Inspiration for this song explained in the band's myspace about Lacey and her relationship with her sister is likely and probable! This band being a Christian definitely influences the messages they put out on their CD's, wether God's name is present in the song or not. You would be hard-pressed to find any song of theirs that ends in negativity. There is hope out there and this band, God Bless Them, wants you to know it! We all want to be loved above all else, we exhaust ourselves looking for it wether we be the one looking for it or the one waiting to be found. You may get weary of hearing jesus or god references(i use to be the same way), but i am hopeful that you see the deeper message of Love or the hope for it in all these songs. I hope love finds you all in everything you do, take care Guys & Gals! :) |
