This was actually written for Joey Molland by Pete, after he was asked to play "Here Comes the Sun" with George Harrison at the Concert for Bangladesh. There was some jealousy felt by Joey and Kathie, his wife. Pete was saying that it wasn't something he *asked* for...and that, someday, good fortune could come to Joey, so no need to feel bad about the opportunity Pete had. |

Actually, this song was written when Pete fell in love with Anne Ferguson, who was married to their roadie, Ian. He is asking those involved to give them a chance and try to understand what happened....that they weren't trying to hurt anyone, but that they just fell in love. Anne is Petera's (Pete's daughter) mother. |
