Just so you know... "Oliberated" ISN'T A WORD the song obviously says Obliterated as in totaly demolished... "I hate it when people get the lyrics wrong"... get it right yourself...

I totaly agree with you! on the second page there are people saying that the guy in the song is a sex addict and are using masochistic as their key word to prove it. People, plese do look up the definition and please dont use the word unless you can comprehend the meaning. And nobody even pays much attention to the second word.

I was totaly opposed to the thought of it being drug additction such as alchohol, but the way you gathered your facts here made it a very possible interpretation. I also have never drank, nor have I ever taken any kind of drugs, but I have smoked cigaretts. It is a terrible addiction and I can relate the song to smoking, but I just can't seem to get my mind to believe that it could be alchohol. But you are totaly right on this and I am starting to see that possibility.

masochist - someone who obtains pleasure from receiving punishment .... PEOPLE! HOW DO YOU GET SEX OUT OF THIS! ANYTHING THAT HAS THE WORD SEXUAL OR PLEASURE LEADS STRAIGHT TO "Oh hes a sex addict!" CAN YOU NOT COMPREHEND. THis is someone who likes pain who lives with pain all the time and enjoys it. And the definition of nihilistic is: "Nihlism - A delusion, experienced in some mental disorders, that the world or one's mind, body, or self does not exist." Obviously this guy doesnt even think he exists... I just started reading other peoples responses and thought about my own... I think now that I could have developed mine better by adding this to it. It would have also made much more sense in my opinion. But this is all else I have to say.

To me it sounds just like a vampire telling his every day struggles.... hiding his every day life and lying to all of his friends about what he is and then his thirst for blood, which is hard for him to satisfy without killing someone, hence driving him insane with either path he chooses. He can't get rid of what he is and he is dying because of his lack of blood consumption but he ignores whats in plain sight because he doesnt want to have to kill to live and he is in denial of his depleating of life. He knows he will regret letting himself die but he would rather die than feel the pain of killing others. He wants to be able to believe that he wont die, but he cant hide the truth in plain sight from his open eyes as he starts to see the signs of it taking its toll on his body. He is also suffering form what he had to do in the past to satisfy his need for blood, but he realizes that if he doesnt do something about it he will surely die. so he decides to go kill for some again. He begins and as soon as he smells the blood he grows ravenous to a point where everything is a blurr and all his body responds to is the craving of blood. Awakening from his blackout he notices that he has just turned back into what he used to be. He felt like he was a monster, but he didnt want to be even thoug it seemed like an okay idea before hand. Now he feels an emptyness because of what he has done, but he still wants more. His craving just wont end, but he cant change who he is though. because of his reluctancy to drink blood he is growing deprived of life, energy, and basically everything good. He doesnt think that he can be what he used to be and kill for his own life again, he is willing to fight for his life but will find that every time he tries he just brings himself back to what he used to be. Just my opinion and interpretation of this wonderful song... and a small note: I just read a fantastic novel with the name of Vampire Kisses. I liked it (if you can get past the cheesy town names and the retarted catch phrases) but what I didn't like was the authours version of vampires. I dont even wanna hear about this stereotypical vampire thing... sunlight, stakes in the heart (come on... who wouldn't that kill), no reflection, garlic, the putting of their victims under spells. Seriously.... THAT'S STUPIDITY! Hope you liked my opinion on this song... I think I've been reading too many vampire novels. ^,.,^
