| I listen to this song with the idea that I understand the feeling-- being all screwed up, but I feel alright. I may be batshit, and the world feels so inhospitable to me sometimes that I try to drink a bottle of wine and float down a freezing river, but people can still save my life because I love them more than life. To me, this song is very reminiscent of dying. Not that I remember dying, because then I would be dead and not writing this. But I do remember ALMOST dying. That confused, yet calm feeling is translated from this song for me. Especially the line, "It's getting hard to be someone..." It's hard to keep an eye on reality when every idea about yourself is slipping away... and surely, hard to be someone when you're not going to be anything anymore. |
