leeham987 those lyrics are caleb from an omniscient position. it is him singing about himself. sitting on his throne like hes at a show and hes the king everyone wants to see, the "fireball" is music or drugs but in refernce to the song i think music. and he sayign how he just wants to hold himself and pull himself out, tell him that its ok to just be himself and he doesnt need to be the "king" everyone wants to come see. and then with twll you that its gonna be tough hes saying how breaking away from music wont be that easy! hope taht helps absolutely brilliant song writing |

| Gonna chalk this one up to the booze. Clearly Caleb loves his liqour medication and this song is about alcohol and its effects and happieness. watching interveiws with caleb alcohol is always around and on teh tongue, and in no way am i hating on that! i jsut have a friend taht drinks too much and this song is along those lines---the friend is the drink | |
| Kings of Leon – The End Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| this song is about the end of the kings of leon. Caleb is talking about how tired he is of being on the road and how he is just a wanderer. the distant melody of the lead guitar has alot of the same feel as arizona. i dont think there is any question in what is being said though. clearly a song written on the road when they are missing home. makes me miss home. | |
| The Flaming Lips – Fight Test Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I find it funny that no one has commented on teh meaning behind this song! This is one of their most filled songs and talks about something that is sooooo clutch in todays society. Although i do believe that the "fight" is a parallel to something I am going to chose to look at it as an actual fight. It just shows how our modern culture works. Everyone is prepared to fight and wishes to be the tough guy but when it comes down to it everyone is scared---the parallel is war. Just like 311 once said "you front and try to act hard, because your scared that someone might pull your card" go lips |

| José González – Save Your Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song talks about time and how it can be a distasteful killer. Jose is saying how if you dont appreciate the time you have in life and the blessing of life then you will wither and die. His opening lines Poke the body with a stick, roll it down Ignore the moaning as it tumbles to the ground Be brave and save your day this line is there to say to you hey, dont waste your time--look at those who have it doesnt end well. Jose is incredible and this song is a testament to his singer songwriter skill. |

| Josh Ritter – Other Side Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song was writin on a cross country trip Ritter took with his brother. He talks about how they had been living off pizza for the past 13 days and he was going through extreme writers block. He talks about how he was passing through the middle U.S. and seeing these crazy statues of the Flinstones that were 20-30 ft. tall. This song is a result of cross country travel--love it, makes me wanna head out too! | |
| Josh Ritter – Roll On Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song talks about a love lost due to the road. He wants to stay with her and keep her as his own but the road is drawing him away--"youll probably end up thinking that i dont care, when you get a letter from a new somewhere" Its as if he wants to keep the relationship but since he is just a tramp of the road she cant do it. This song is almost like a folk sequal of Sprinsteens Born to Run--bold statement I know but what the hell. |
