Between the Buried and Me – Sun of Nothing Lyrics 16 years ago
It seems that all the songs are connected. Informal Gluttony was about how most people spend their miserable lives trying to fall into social norms. The man in this song is giving that all up (seemingly though suicide). They call him the spaceman because he has appeared to be in his own little world. He has his head in the clouds so to speak. He is tired of the norm. "I just see faces. Faces staring blank as they go on with the routine. This routine. Nothing new..." As he is thinking he drifts off to space, (most likely not in a literal sense, but whatever), and he realizes that he really doesn't have it that bad even though he is lonely and isolated now. "I can't believe that's what it has come to... I never really had it all that bad. I just looked around and never thought about the blank stares." I think that he is slowly dying here perhaps by his own design. Maybe slowly suffocating because he his drifting and having a sort of flashback. At the end he dies. Again I think he runs out of air somehow because he drifts to sleep.
I hope this at least clears up some possibilities. This is just my interpretation.

Between the Buried and Me – Informal Gluttony Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is about the breaking down of society. Especially in the city. "The cityscape burns brighter by the hour." Our lives are run by the clock, and we never seem to have much time to do what we need to do, but it doesnt matter because we can't really do anything worth while when we are bound by the chains of societies demands for us to become "acceptable people." "Construction paper lawns... force-fed attention grabber...
When will you learn?"
To illustrate this they use the metaphor of food that we Americans are so fond of. Its a quite ingenious parody I think because it effectively portrays another fault of many Americans while already exposing one fault. They are hinting that we eat up all this crap about what we are supposed to be like. We get this from the TV mostly. "(It's a television nightmare)
Eat and watch, eat eat eat... what they feed" Its all junk food in the end.
