| Substance abuse, yes. I understand. Been there. But now that I’m sober, this song represents the swings of my bipolar disorder and it’s exactly the same shit. Sir Elton will become a greater legacy than Beethoven. | |

I think this is about an addict with behavioral health issues who kicks it by giving their life to another person. The vitamin tablet is an antidepressant or something of the sort. The “junkyard fool” can score for them or perhaps a metaphor for the drug itself. “I asked him time again, take me in and dry the rain.” I need a fix. I need to be ok. When the melodica or trumpet or whatever it is kicks in, this is their psyche or mood. They’ve decided to try and help another with the same addiction and/or affliction. “If there’s something inside that you wanna say, say it out loud it’ll be ok. I will be your light…” |

I listened to Carnavas b/c I heard lazy eye on the radio. i listened to the cd 3 times and didn't like it! i picked it back up and now I frikkin LOVE this band! being an oldskool pumpkins fan, i can see the influence. I think this song can be interpreted many ways, like many songs, but I think this song is about drug use. "Open soars and open jaws". that's damage from a needle in your arm. "join in the last hurrah" refers to the user telling themselves that they're only going to do it one last time and it's over. "it's too early for everyone" refers to the shock from loved ones "over and over and over and over..." refers to the repetitive drug abuse "who are we to promise we'll be leaving shortly" speaks to how a user doesn't have the willpower to stop "find one last flaw, keep it safe and free from harm" means the user is finding reasons to continue using, which keeps that person from harm (harm would be stopping the drug use) Don't know if anyone is still reading this post, but I think this is great song. BTW, I could be totally wrong b/c I'm probably the only person who believes that "Little Love So Polite" is literally about a plane crash. LOL |
