I think this song is about elliot minor struggling to make it as a band career-wise. Much of the lyrics would suggest this, such as... " what's this box I'm living in? " .. this line implies that because they probably aren't making that much money from the band that they're living poor.. in a " box " I think the 1st line " Hey can you hear my body falling on the floor "... implies giving up, like when your so tired of doing something and feel like your gettin nowhere.. like he's fainting because he's so overworked and lacking energy.... and the 2nd line " Hey can you see its not what I was looking for " .. suggests that he didn't anticipate the work that would be required to make a career out of something he has so much passion for.. like he's being turned off it because now something he used to do recreationally to relax and for fun has turned into his career and now its no longer relaxing, now its no longer fun.. now it's all work and perhaps not what he was expecting. " Oh what do we do now? Do we wait and sweat it out? " The 1st two chorus kind of ties all this up... its self-explainitory...Do they put up with this and keep going? ... Do they feel all they're hard work is paying off? ... Are they goin to follow their dream? .. even though it may not be exactly what they were expecting.. |

| this is sucha good insight... totally makes sense... also its sooo the kinda ting matt would write about..he's all about the dictatorship modern society has upon us and how it affects people...not just the media but also the government and powerful organisations who take over and leave us to be brainwashed...see us as nothing more than a herd of cattle that are oblivious to all of their actions and allow them to tell us what we want and what we feel... this is definetly the kind of thing he would feel strongly about and be angry about... i like it :p .... this song is awesome... hope they play it at wembley!! | |

Alex said in an interview that this song is about them struggling to make it as a band at the beginning of their career... '' time after time and nothing has changed, time after time and we're still the same '' ..... they were working hard, doing the same thing everyday, practising etc... but it wasn't exactly paying off... '' give e the key to unlock you '' ...here I think he is refing to the music industry.. how to crack it and to appeal to the public etc... thats what i think neway :p x |

I totally agree with everyone who believes that the '' she '' in this song is refering to fame and fortune... a few of the songs on showbiz refer to them struggling as a band at the beginning of their career and i think this is one of them... '' come waste you're millions here, secretly she sneers '' .... I think this is refering to them struggling financially as a group when they were trying to get started.. matt has talked about them having to work various different jobs at the beginning of their music career to keep the band going so they could make recordings and buy equipment and such.. but the '' she '' is sneering at them as if its all a waste of their time, and and that they're going to get nowhere. the '' guilt '' that domiates the lyrics of this song I think refers to them longing so much to be recognised for their music, and feeling guilty about wanting fame and fortune so much.... they're longing is always present, like the '' sun '' ... they can't get rid of it...it's constantly burning them... I think he feels that if he fails, he must '' hide from the world, behind a broken frame '' ... in the video the mirror image is being used... one can look into a mirror and see what they personally want to see, but the conscience within is hidden beneath this image.. its being hidden from everybody else... '' and i'll burn forever, I can't face the shame '' .... he thinks if he fails now that he couldn't live with the shame, the disapointment in himself would be engraved ( '' burned '' ) into his soul forever... thats my thoughts neway dudes... feeel free to diagree :p x |

| The title of the song doesnt actually have anything to do with it tho... the band wrote the song and cudnt think of a name for it so they went to the dictionary looked up the word ' muse ' and took the word before it ' muscle ' and the word after it ' museum ' and vola... formed the title .... read that sumwhere.. | |

In interviews matt bellamy has said how the first record company they went to were trying to get them to change their style and stuff..but they refused.... This song is like how they just wanted to be recognised for being themselves and about all the work they've put in and stuff.... AWESOME CHOON!!! deffo one of muse's best songs :p x | |

Hmmmm... interesting theory... I think this song is along the same lines as muse's song plug in baby... about how playin electric guitar, gives him a high... and how it gives him freedom, how the music itself brings the guitar to life... It could be about both an ex and this tho... like playing guiar makes him feel better about the whole situation os sumtin... I duno??! lol!! I tooo will ak alex after the concert, lol!! :P x |
