| "And you're faking that?" must be "And your faking land", according to the booklet that comes with the cd. | |
| Porcupine Tree – Trains Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think this song is a love song, fitting in the "In Absentia" concept. The somewhat obscure desires in Blackest Eyes seem really odd to many people (offcourse!), but do not differ extremely from a normal love memory or desire, like in Trains. I believe Trains is still written from the perspective of a deviant, which gives a lovely interpretation to this song. I like the concept, because perhaps many people do have some of those obscure feelings in their desires. Only some can not withstand them. | |

Hi, I'm pretty sure the lyrics must be like this: The National - Terrible Love It’s terrible love and I’m walking with spiders It’s terrible love that I’m walking in It’s terrible love and I’m walking with spiders It’s terrible love that I’m walking in this quiet company this quiet company It’s terrible love and I’m walking with spiders It’s terrible love that I’m walking in It’s terrible love and I’m walking with spiders It’s terrible love that I’m walking in this quiet company this quiet company this quiet company And I can’t fall asleep without a little help It takes a while to settle down My shivered bones Until the panic ‘s out It takes an ocean not to break It takes an ocean not to break It takes an ocean not to break It takes an ocean not to break Company This quiet company This quiet company But I won’t follow you into the rabbit hole I said I would but then I saw Your shivered bones They didn’t want me to It’s terrible love and I’m walking with spiders It’s terrible love that I’m walking in It’s terrible love and I’m walking with spiders It’s terrible love that I’m walking in It takes an ocean not to break It takes an ocean not to break It takes an ocean not to break |

| Opeth – Heir Apparent Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think this song is fictional, about a king (perhaps a father indeed) and his people. In my opinion the Lotus Eater is that also. By the way, I think it is: His gaze burning on the edge of the days. Not dreams. |

Hi, I agree with Percussivemassacre. I think it's too "easy" thinking to search for deep meanings behind all songs, sometimes that's correct, but in this case... maybe not neccesary. I think Mikael is talking about some kind of Werewolf story, about someone who thinks awfull about himself. In fact this idea is in coherence with the complete album idea, I think. |
