"He ate my heart and then he ate my brain." I love this line in particular. This guy didn't only steal my heart, he didn't just sweep me off my feet. He took over my brain; I now can't even realize how head over heels I am. Everyone in a relationship that's lasted fairly long knows this feeling. I love this song! :) |

| Lady GaGa – So Happy I Could Die Lyrics | 16 years ago |

"I love that lavender blonde. The way she moves, the way she walks." I think she is referring to herself here. She loves that confidence she illuminates, even though she always doesn't feel that way. I think all the lines about touching herself are her saying that (while under the influence of alcohol or drugs) all she needs is herself to feel good. It gives her that ability to not need anyone else besides that bottle. "Just give in, Don't give up baby, Open up your heart and your mind to me." The temptation of the alcohol. "Just know when, That glass is empty, that the world is gonna bend" The world is not as good as it seems with alcohol. (that ones pretty self explanatory, haha) The chorus, to me, is the feeling of being just plain drunk. The whole beat changes to a more slow, slurred beat. She feels up in the clouds, higher than life while drunk. That's why she's so happy she could die, the alcohol makes her feel that good. Fear of Alcohol Monster, Fear of Addiction Monster. One of my favorites on the CD! Lady Gaga seems to be showing a more insecure side on this new CD, and I love how she can be risky enough to do that. Considering she's known for being so confident, it's nice to see how she is in fact a real person. |

Thanks for that quote! I'm a little puzzled about the boyfriend saying she's a tramp and all that now, though. Lady Gaga sure knows how to make us think, haha. |

Oh wow, way to many typos. I think this is Fear of Judgement Monster. |

And by "her", I mean the main character, not of Gaga herself. Maybe she's gone through this feeling before, though? Just a thought. |

I think this song is all about the general publics' outlook on female figures. The whole first verse is her saying "I can do what I want, I could kill myself, and I don't care what you say." (in other words, "Inject me, I'm a Free Bit-") I've noticed that in most of her songs, Lady Gaga will put the main character as a male. (Like in Speechless, which was clearly about her dad, she says "That boy left me so speechless") I think she is saying "he" as in everyone. She's scared of when EVERYONE would see her true colors, what if they judge her for not being as perfect as she seems? I also think when her "boyfriend says a mess/tramp" she means what the public assumes about most Hollywood girls. I think that by putting her boyfriend, they mean actually people who are close to her even think she's losing her touch, and that makes her feel so lifeless. ("She's a vamp") The middle section (all of the girls); I think this is obviously these glamorous girls who really didn't have glamorous lives. I think that this is Gaga saying to let yourself lose; find your religion (Jesus), find your true artist (Stanley Kubrick). "Together we'll dance in the dark"-- We'll all let ourselves dance, let go, together. But we will never truly be free to show our true selves to everyone. I agree, I think that this is Fear of Confidence Monster. This song to me is the most interesting of all the songs off of The Fame Monster. After listening to it for a while, this is what I've come up with. Sorry that this is long and a little scatterbrained. :P I'd love to hear what you all think. |

I completely agree. Your interpretation is exactly what I thought of, too. "When heavy wings grow lighter" is probably one of my favorite lines in a song. It's like that person that always seemed too good to be true, to sweet to be human, is now an ACTUAL angel. Definitely one of Owl City's best! |

To me, I think this song is full of regret. I don't think the song itself is happy, but is about happiness. I think she is saying that if she wouldn't have been as scared to begin with, maybe she would be MORE happy. If she would've taken the risk, she might have turned out better. "Don't care about other pain in front of me Cos I'm just trying to be happy" The last two lines in the chorus is what I believe for her to be saying that she is scared to take a risk, but she will. Just what I think, though. Love this song! |
