| AFI – I Wanna Mohawk (But Mom Won't Let Me Get One) Lyrics

It sounds rather sarcastic and mocking, as opposed to how everyone seems to accept it at face value. What kind of punk kid admits that his mom won't let him do things? When you're that young, you think you know more than you get credit for. But really, you don't know jack-all about anything. |

Why is everybody looking at this from a Christian perspective? To me, the song sounds like Bowie meeting an eldritch abomination, changing its form to prevent him from going insane. It is older than the Gods and, by the end, makes him its avatar here. |

| Demons and Wizards – Crimson King Lyrics

I think the song is a duet between Flagg and the Crimson King. Much of it is about Flagg, but the CK sings the opening and most of after "The universe is void." Makes more sense and it explains the two distinct voices.
SPOILER:
He swallows a spoon and it kills him, as prophecised. But then he rides to the Tower for the climax, so he's apparently undead at that point. Then he gets erased, but since his eyes remain, he's still alive even then. |

| Led Zeppelin – Ten Years Gone Lyrics

At a concert in Landover back in '77, Plant introduced this song like this:
"If you've ever had an affair with a member of the opposite sex, or even a member of the same sex; if this affair seemed very casual to you at one time, and then you walked away, and as the years go by, it was a lot more than it seemed. then you've felt... you've felt a feeling of lost love. and this is a song about that, it's called 'Ten Years Gone'"
So yeah, that's what it's about. When he said the bit about the same sex back then, it made me realize that the lyrics don't mention gender at all. So it works for anyone who's ever had a lost love. |

It is. In the episode, they chant "DUNCAN! HILLS! We fear not DETH!" 3 times.
The "darkened hills" part on the album still sounds like that to me. |

Obviously, this song is a masterfully crafted tirade about spirituality and government conspiracies.
So obvious. |

It's about a movie that is exactly what the song describes, yet somehow manages to be crap. |

Excellent cover. It wasn't until the chorus that I realized what this song was. Beautifully done. |

| Rammstein – Pussy Lyrics

Rammstein's relatively obscure in the German music scene. Even though they're famous in America and Asia, they're just another band in Europe. So they can get any women or men they look at anywhere in the world except their own home country. That's where the meaning of "Take me now, oh don't you see?/I can't get laid in Germany!" comes from.
I think the entire song's like Zwitter: they wanted to stir up controversy and their usual antics aren't all that "special" now: everyone's gotten used to them. So they had to go all out with this. |
