| I honestly love this song. It really makes me consider the feelings of those who have lost a loved one more. It really can hit home, and it's one of their slower and emotional songs. | |

I've always thought that this song was about teenagers and their relationships. Because in this era people are so focused on outward appearance, money, etc. it's hard to have a normal relationship. Stanza 1. She gloats about the intimacy of their relationship like it doesn't matter. She thinks it's helping her but it only makes things worse. 2. She always knows someone to go to for a nice rant. He's starting to think he doesn't know her. 3. The relationship started out supposedly innocent, but it led to him only wanting one thing from her, not being attracted to her personality at all. He had to back himself up with her appearance to make it work. She thinks he loves her completely, and he knows this. He knows her personality so well now that he can explain it in words. Stanza Refrain 1: He's thankful for their relationship despite the fact it is unreasonable and based on nothing. He thought he loved her for her mind, but it was only what she showed him before they were together that drew him in. Stanza Refrain 2: It sounds like they had vowed to love each other in the back of his car in a Wal-Mart parking lot or maybe Target or something. In the end they just vowed to act like they were lovers until the night ended. 4. He knows all of the bad things about her, and they both are beginning to like the drama and pain they've inflicted on the other. 5. They're starting to hurt each other, and the damage is getting to be a permanent affliction. They're addicted to the drama and the pain. Pretty much my whole interpretation. Again, only my opinion and a story I can't get out of my mind when I listen to it. |

I'm pretty sure I heard it as 'Once stuttered a joke of a romantic,' rather than 'Barely stuttered.' I always found this song heart-shattering. It just reminded me of all of the broken relationships out there that won't be fixed. It also shows a lot of ulterior motives in relationships. My opinion of course. |

Another lovely song by Fall Out Boy. I've always interpreted it as a long term friendship that went downhill when the girl found out about him liking her. She then spent all of her time with other guys, trying to scare him away for one reason or another while hiding her feelings for her. Then I imagined her shooting him and him being such a masochist he liked it. I'm not talking about Wentz, and I know for sure this isn't its true meaning. I just decided when I first listened to it to weave a plot out of it. |

I don't really understand the thought that this song is about a girl... I've always thought it was subtly hinting that he was bisexual. Wentz even admitted to it a while back. Which kind of makes me sad to say I even know that. I do know, however, that Fall Out Boy fights a lot for gay rights and even now is fighting Proposition 8 in California by donating $50,000 (I believe, more or less) to it. I don't see it to farfetched to say this is a Pete Wentz roleplay about his sexuality or something along the lines of that. I myself don't know what the actual meaning behind the song is, but I know what it means to me. I interpret it that way whenever I listen to it. After all, it's in the name and makes a lot of sense. I don't think many guys' feet would fit in their girlfriend's shoes. Now if we were talking about a boyfriend...~ |
