I don't necessarily believe this song is about love. And if it were, it isn't strong love. He can't go, he still has a day job, he could quit it if he wanted but there's something or rather someone else keeping him there. The only line in the chorus that I can't pin down is "Will anybody miss me when I'm gone?". It doesn't feel like it's his voice, while the rest of the song is commanding and exact. Just a thought. |

This song has such beauty crafted into it. Jeremy shows us into the most integral moment where his relationship with someone he cares for deeply was at a crossroad. His selfishness ("Another Heartsick lullaby but I can't seem to make you cry") and lack of confidence ("But I'm afraid that you'll never love me") are in an internal struggle. He has a seemingly strong dislike for the object of the womens desire, but he can't tell her, so he'll support her. Love. |
