Jeremy Messersmith – Day Job Lyrics 16 years ago
I don't necessarily believe this song is about love. And if it were, it isn't strong love.
He can't go, he still has a day job, he could quit it if he wanted but there's something or rather someone else keeping him there.

The only line in the chorus that I can't pin down is "Will anybody miss me when I'm gone?". It doesn't feel like it's his voice, while the rest of the song is commanding and exact. Just a thought.

Jeremy Messersmith – Beautiful Children Lyrics 16 years ago
This song has such beauty crafted into it.
Jeremy shows us into the most integral moment where his relationship with someone he cares for deeply was at a crossroad. His selfishness ("Another Heartsick lullaby but I can't seem to make you cry") and lack of confidence ("But I'm afraid that you'll never love me") are in an internal struggle. He has a seemingly strong dislike for the object of the womens desire, but he can't tell her, so he'll support her. Love.
