i love this song, its haunting and the comments about the ghost and the lovers sounded similar to what i got out of it. The line that stuck out the most was "We never quite broke that horse", the couple never broke in their relationship and became comfortable with each other, it was rushed, in the "burnt down barn" on the "blanket of coats"... obviously bad came out of the experience and: "But oh god that look in your eye Trouble that does not search words It sprung from the biblical vine And are waiting to return to the dirt" ...looks like its the core of the song... we never really know what happened because of the ambiguity of the surreal images, whatever it was the object of once affection is now outcasted, lost, in some way from the singer. "sprinted away to where i dont know" |
