Love this song so much. The first time I gave this album a cursory listen, the line that stuck with me (apart from "Ring The Bell"'s "at least we live tonight") was "all I am is dust and faith." I love all of Satellite's lyrics. They resonate with the soul. |

Yeah my immediate thoughts went to God when I heard that line. It's been used in a bunch of Christian songs and it refers to God accepting people just the way the they are: flawed. And being "new again" could refer to a rebirthing in the spirit (hence, Born-Again Christians). It seems like the song is talking about a boy who's been brought down by the people around him and he's just ready to start over and cut those ties (and, following the Christian train of thought, to surrender to God and let him make him new again). That said, I also don't actually think that's what they intended with these lyrics but it's just the first thing that I thought of. |
