Sounds very much like Opeth, indeed, but that's a good thing. This is probably my favorite Katatonia songs. One of the most beautiful songs I've heard in a long, long time. |

| Blind Guardian – War of the Thrones Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
It's about George R. R. Martin's book series 'A Song of Fire and Ice'. The "Others" are the bad guys of the series, I believe, and the "walls" mentioned are just that, big walls, which seperate people from dark, evil-ridden areas of the world (perhaps where the Others normally dwell). I suppose it could have been metaphorical in the song, but yeah, these "Walls" are prominent in the story AFAIK. |

Thank you for sharing your theory, minus_zer0. It's a very intriguing one that almost forced me to read up on this case. And I've actually passed on that information here and there... About the song and how it's possibly about the abduction. It really sounds like you're spot-on -- even after all the further information I've read up on. Thanks again. Also, just because you mentioned that, I had the chance to find out about the movie 'Fire in the Sky', based on the book Travis Walton wrote about the events. Good movie, even if inaccurate at parts. Oh, Superb song, by the way. |

| Dio – Don't Talk To Strangers Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
At least when not examining it too closely, the song gave me the impression that it was about the restrictions we make for ourselves. "Don't talk to strangers 'Cause they're only there to do you harm" Is one thing that gave me the impression. "Don't dream of women" Makes me think of Christianity and the forbidding of everything-sexual outside of marriage. The line that follows it sort of breaks that theory, though... And finally this part (and the end): "Don't let them inside your mind, yeah Run away, run away, go!" ...makes it sound like he's implying that we should "break loose from these chains" (so to speak) and live our life like we want to. But like I said, this is only the impression I get when I don't examine it too closely. |
