I had a profound dream about this song.......there was a woman with this man (the man had shoulder length dark blonde to light brown hair and looked like he was somewhere between the age of 35 & 45) anyway in my dream I could feel what the woman felt....she loved him so much, it was the way that he talked to her and the way that he made her feel. She was his wife and loved being his wife, in this dream he had gone somewhere and by nightfall he did not come home and she began to hurt so bad emotionally, and the whole time she is thinking to herself he calls me his wife, how can he be so sweet and loving and yet still do this? By morning she is fiercely angry but he pulls up in a truck, while pulling up he is holding up a silver revolver and while she is standing inside waiting for him to come in he brings in a parade of what look like band women/show girls...they are wearing royal blue and silver and are all gorgeous and its as if he is telling her that there is absolutely NOTHING that she can do about it.......THEN I WOKE UP. So profound , things like this happen and that men can be this way, say I love you, treat you better than most and then be like this....once he has a lady reeled in he considers her his property and takes on the attitude that he can do whatever he wants and there is nothing she can do about it, he'll kill her if she tries.....and then the woman on the other hand tells herself but when he is good to me he is SO good, with the hopes that she can change him...her angry side wants to leave while her loving side wants to stay and hope that he"ll change |

I think that this song is about someone knowing that a good thing is coming to an end the writer feels that the other person is about to break it off,the writer CANT STAND sitting and waiting for it to happen although they know that it is inevitable and the writer is wondering how it will be....when they are like strangers, when the changes come about and they are both alienated from each other will the other person miss them, will it be something that they regret, and basically the writer (as everyone else in the world does) will try to act unscathed and unbothered by the whole thing, like they didnt care in the first place. Its not what he wants to happen but he knows it will, he loves immensely, and he's just wondering if there will be any signs at all of whether or not the other person truely cared. One of my ALL TIME favorites...I was going through the exact same thing when this song came out so it was with me every step of the way |

To me I think this song is about someone loving someone and not being given a chance and one is saying you liked her better thats fine, I understand..I dont want to know about it. I used to think that this was about soulmates one being able to feel all that the other feels, even what the other doesnt think that they feel, when they are numb (I'm You) being what sums it up... but now I think that it is about blame, who will take the blame and I think it is saying you will take the blame, we're in it together but you'll take the blame...I liked it better when I thought it was about soulmates but I'm Niave so oh well...its still a DAMNED good song!! |
