Every Time I Die – Revival Mode Lyrics 13 years ago
I guess no one is familiar with the whole Rubadubdub, three men in a tub?
One of the lines in the rhyme is "the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker"
Seems like he is making a pretty clear play on the old rhyme. Hope that helps make sense out of why it is baker and not banker.

Bad Religion – Stranger Than Fiction Lyrics 14 years ago
I always thought the line was "cockroach nymphs"... just because it makes sense, of course, I was never thinking about the rhyme scheme. I'm going to keep pretending that's what he says anyway.

Misfits – Hate The Living, Love The Dead Lyrics 15 years ago
Just thought I would throw this in there...

I don't know if anyone has confirmation that this is about Bride of Frankenstein, but I also thought there was a chance this song was about Re-animator/Bride of the Re-Animator. Just sounds like it with all the gore imagery... however, the "We will breed for you on your command" part doesn't really fit in with that interpretation to well.

I am not trying to challenge popular thought here, just thought I'd point out the possibility. If it is in fact about Bride of Frankenstein, it is still pretty interesting to think of the Re-Animator flicks in relation to these lyrics as well.

Misfits – Descending Angel Lyrics 15 years ago
I'm still pretty sure this is about Prophecy. I'm not sure why someone would be so adamant about the meaning of this song being purely about losing a loved one. Going by the common theme of the Misfits, it is safe to assume it is about a movie, and the lyrics seem like they could easily apply to Prophecy (maybe 2 as well, like mentioned previously). That being said, the great thing about fiction and art (poems, songs, literature, movies, etc) is that it can mean different things to different people. If it means something to you, and you like that reading of said work, then regardless of whether it was what the artist intended, it is still a meaning. There is vast amounts of theory based on this subject... feel free to check it out. Basically what I'm saying here is if you like it being about a lost love, or religion in general, or the bible, or whatever, then preserve that meaning as what it means to you. Don't let anyone correct you.

All that aside, I'm still fairly certain it is about Prophecy... if not, something very similar. Most of the interpretation that comes previous here is reading in. The metaphors do not define themselves, really, it is just an application of what an individual wants it to mean.

Protest the Hero – Limb From Limb Lyrics 16 years ago
Just wanted to point out that Fildais is indeed protector of the woodland and such in Irish mythology. She does not, however, hunt out the miscreants of society, she actually protects them (in most accounts). Many of society's outcasts would seek out her guardianship. Just thought I would clear that up since some people seem to have gotten the reverse impression.

Here is a decent little blurb on her:
