I can definitely relate to this. I know it's about a druggy and all, but I have my own experience with something similar. Last year, I had a friend that I found out was cutting and was considering suicide. For the rest of the year, I tried desperately to help her, and convince her that she had no reason to do what she was doing,that she was unnecessarily miserable. It got to the point that I was so despairing about it that someone tricked me into revealing the girl's secret in a last bid to help her. Prior to that we had been great friends, telling each other almost everything. Now, just four months later, we're still friendly, but we only talk once a week or so. It's really painful, and it happened only because I tried with every fiber of my being to help her. That's just what this song brings to mind for me. Beautiful though. |
