I think the song is about a girl who was in a bad relationship and is now in a new one, but still pines after he abusive boyfriend [i miss the day you spit on me] except this dude isn't perfect either...apparently he brags about his band & makes snide remarks about her poetry? and then eventually her ex comes back to town and she leaves her new boyfriend to meet him. But that's just a guess. |
