| Lifehouse – Halfway Gone Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| i think this song is talking about a relationship that's close to ending. it sounds like they both just need one more thing to leave eachother. like, they're not to sure, but they kinda want to. "you got one foot out the door and choking on the other, always think there's something more." | |

| Interpol – Pioneer to the Falls Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i was reading a few comments and some of them mentioned the "Imette St. Guillen's murder" so i decided to look it up. I was reading about the murder and how it took place and stuff and it's basically about a girl who was celebrating her birthday with a friend so they went to a bar. her friend had to leave, but St. Guillen wanted to keep celebrating so she stayed alone and decided to go to another bar. coincidentally, the names of the bars she was at were "the Pioneer" and "the Falls." The pioneer was the bar she was at first and when her friend had left, she went to the falls. this ov=bviously fits with the name of the song "pioneer to the falls" because you know, she went from the pioneer to the falls. i just thought this would be some useful information for anyone out there who wasn't aware of this information. however, the lyrics don't really make sense to me. like, i don't understand how it relates to the murder so i guess maybe the song is speaking baout paul's reaction to the murder, possibly? im not sure. if someone would care to explain, please do. anyways, i hope this helps someone. oh btw, i got the information from wikipedia. |

| Death Cab for Cutie – Bixby Canyon Bridge Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
this is defiantely a powerful song. it's one of my favorite death cab songs. this might have already been mentioned so im sorry, but i think this osng is about ben trying to get to know someone who won't let him in. at first i didn't think bixby canyon bridge had anything to do with the meaning, but reading other comments i realize that it does. someone else mantioned that it's probably a place where this person ben is trying to reach had something traumatic done to them that possibly left them dead inside. so ben, trying to figure out the pieces went there and waited for the person to talk to him. he wanted to know if he should continue waiting or just move on. he then mentions how its hard to stay awake when everyone else seems to be asleep. to me this means that ben is consious of all the bad things going on with this person and they just need to open up to someone who is willing to put up with them until they talk and will listen. in the end where he leaves, to me symbolizes that he's possibly given up now. he isn't closer to knowing anything new about this person. i kind of relate to it. i met this guy who was very anti-social and didn't talk much and that sort of intrigued me about him so i kept trying to talk to him, but each time, he would give me short-ended answers. so i developed a crush on him, a pretty stupid thing to do, but i kept trying to figure him out. no matter how much emotional damage i recieved. i tried really hard to become friends with him but he just wouldn't budge, so i decided to give up. it was very hard to do, but i had to move on. the part that touched me the most was: "And the silence, it became so very clear, that you had long ago disappeared. I cursed myself for being surprised that this didn't play like it did in my mind." because it just sums up so much of how i felt. i had pretty much imagined how everything was going to turn out in the end and that i would be happy, but nothing turned out to be true. so when i gave up, i cursed myself for being surprised. i absolutely adore this song. death cab is such an amazing group and they have absolutely stunning songs. |

| Goldfrapp – Monster Love Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think this song basically explains returning to like someone again. someone you liked very much, maybe like an obsession or something which is why it's refered to as monster love. and you know it's stupid, but you didn't know, you thought you were over the person. my interpretation is probably kind of stupid, but yea. :) |

| Radiohead – No Surprises Lyrics | 16 years ago |

The song probably doesn't mean what I think it is since I'm such an emotional person and relate everything to love, =^-^= but I'll still say it. I feel like this song has to do with someone who fell in love (hard) and then is greatly disappointed/hurt by that other person and feels like they no longer want to feel the pleasant surprise of love. Then it just goes on to how it'll be the last time (this is my final belly-ache) they fall in love and instead they'll just take a quiet life. very sad T_T i constantly play this song after i see the boy I really like because I know he'll never be mine and will never feel the same way I do so I just feel like giving up completely, but he's able to keep me tangled in his web. i don't know how, but i always make everything relate to my current mood. |

| Arcade Fire – Wake Up Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
To me this song is about a child who expiriences love (or any other strong emotion) for the first time and doesn't know how to deal with it so he just bottles it up, but then later in the future when he's older he's faced with it again and realizes he has to learn how to deal with it (i guess we'll just have to adjust) or it'll tear him apart (our bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up). Then the ending of this song has an uplifting beat which makes you feel that everything is going to be fine and that everyone has the ability to hurt someone else greatly (With my lightning bolts a-glowin' I can't see where I am going) so we just have to be careful because that's life (you better look out below). Hence the name, "Wake Up". |

| Coldplay – Your Love Means Everything Pt. 2 (feat. Faultline) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song takes me back to when I had a huge crush on my teacher and I was actually naive enough to confess how I felt to him without realizing what type of affect it would have on him. So my interpretation is based on how I felt afterwards. "I slipped away last night Took me away from sight and the place I know. All crushed upon my skin" - is later on in the night when you start thinking about what you just did. "This mess I put you in and the punch I threw. It was a strange reaction for someone like you to remain on side And in a chain reaction I was down and calling for a place to hide." - is when you start realizing that you just did something stupid and you take it back, yet you're baffled by his reaction and how he remained calm and cool. "I saw a broken arm Machines will all break down in the way I know." - is when you start noticing the changes you knew would happen. "Mended and all made clean I saw up on the screen all the stones I throw. It was a strange reaction for someone like you to remain so sure" - is when things start getting better after you realize what you did was wrong (not because of the way you felt, but the way you admitted it without thinking) and you're glad that he understood, but it still ocnfuses you why. "And in a chain reaction I dissolve and break and then away I crawl." - is when reality starts to sink in and you realize that all your efforts were pointless so you feel weak and "crawl" away. But yea! That's just how i feel about it. Nothing else. ^-^ |

| Radiohead – Let Down Lyrics | 16 years ago |

oh my gosh, I totally agree with you! It's like, you don't want anyone else see you in this weak state, especially the one who let you down, but once you get some time alone you let it all out. I think everone's felt that way one point in their life. It's the story of mine. :) good job spacemom3. |

I feel that this song is SP's interpretation of how love happens. However, the title makes you think. Is it love or lust? "You wrap your arms around A feeling that surrounds Like liquid peppermint" - sort of interprets how you first feel when you see someone who is breath taking. "Just taste the drinks that she served And this feeling shivers down your spine" shows that at first you're confused of how you feel, but then you decide just to enjoy the moment. "Love comes in colors I can't deny" - is admitting the fact that you've fallen for this person and you can't deny it. Great song. |

| Radiohead – All I Need Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Personally, to me this song is about someone revealing their devotion to someone else while the other person doesn't care about them. "I am the next act waiting in the wings" - to me this means that he's patiently waiting for her to notice him and possibly be her next relationship. "I am an animal trapped in your hot car" - sort of falls into the "devotion" part i mentioned earlier. Like how you can treat your dog really bad but he still loves you. I know it's a pretty bad comparison but yea. "I am all the days that you choose to ignore" - means all the days this person dislikes and doesn't want to take part of and wishes they'd just disappear, falls into how he thinks she feels about him. When the chous says "You are all I need" literally means what it says. she is all he needs. However, the "im in the middle of your picture" part confuses me. "I am a moth who just wants to share your light" - means that he wants to be part of what makes her survive but she doesn't accept it...? idk this one confuses me. "I'm just an insect trying to get out of the night I only stick with you because there are no others" - means that he's trying to escape loneliness and sticks with her because she makes him comlplete. the ending repition shows the confusion he has on whether to continue liking her or to just give up. I think the song means this because it's exactly what I felt when I really liked this guy who paid no attention to me, yet I maintiained that undeniable attraction. All in all, Radiohead is amazing! |
