These lyrics are ALWAYS incomplete on-line; for some reason in the liner notes they only included the briefest summary of the song lyrics, but the tune itself contains much more, especially at the end part. Here's my take on the beginning of the end; others should feel free to complete it! In your darkest hour In your time of need Persecution and pay may reign, but But you gotta make the rain, sunshine When you've lost your way (hey) When love and hope have fade away When it looks like no tomorrow That's when you gotta pray, that's when you gotta say Everyday (everyday) Everyday (everyday) ... everyday sunshine! |

| This is pretty straightforward; like many Fishbone songs, it's an anti-authoritarianism / free your mind blast; Fishbone obviously sympathizes with the kids who are told to shut up and follow orders. Unlike some other Fishbone songs, however, there's no active resolution -- which is why this song has always seemed half-finished to me. The first half is brilliant, but then it needs something along the lines of a "but I have heard of ways, where people topple all injustice" (Unyielding Conditioning) or "there's a pile of shit in the White House, and we're gonna step on it, when we're visiting" (So Many Millions) to complete it! | |
