I love this song.. my favorite so far off his new album. The first verse refers to a woman who was raped as a child and has never been able to forget that event. She just wants to forget this trauma, but often is faced with visions and recollections of the man who raped her. The chorus is referring to a man (possibly Ali, maybe not) who wants to make things better. Though he wasn't there to comfort her initially, he is there for her now and wants to help take the pain away. She must confront this trauma or it will continue to consume her. The second verse is the man stating how he notices it is impossible for her to love (have sex) because it is like reopening a deep wound. She uses Ecstasy (E) and Ketamine (K) to make this pain go away, and the drugs are her only true escape. The last verse is about the slight hope she holds that one day she will be able to truly live and the admiration of the man who recognizes the difficulty for her to even make it through the day. |
