To me, I feel like this is a promise he's making to his lover. "..Someday you will die, but I'll be close behind." Meaning one day (sooner or later) she will die no matter what, but on that same note, he's reassuring her that he won't be far behind. That they will be finding out the after life together. I feel like it's a promise and a knowledge of their doom, but letting each other know that they will be in it together. Death is just another step for them, it's nothing to cry about. |
