I went over this, it seems like a thousand times. "Hoping you would show your face But I haven't heard a thing you've said In at least a couple hundred days" I would like to think the writer is speaking about his companion or just someone he has had sexually relations with that has past on or left but in the passage under this "I was in the front seat, shaking it out And I was asking if you felt all right I never want to hear the truth I want to hear your voice, it sounded fine My voice is sounding fine" The writer got into some sort of accident and the writer isent ready to hear that the passenger is not okay. "After you had found out Manna is a hell of a drug And I need a little more, I think Because enough is never quite enough What's enough?" This comes to me as if, they got into a wreck because of drugs The passenger died, the writer found out later after the death or heartache of some sort that the passenger was pregnant with the writers child. |

Maybe it has to do with the legal system because of these two lines "Coz I got time while she got freedom" and "you take your suitcase and I'll take the blame" Maybe she did something wrong and took off and he decided to say it was him, now he's relizing that she's with this other guy and he's still doing time for her, or in the system paying back the community for what she has done but he's still in love with her and she dosent give a damn. And at the end of the song you can hear police syrens. |

To the girl...they made there name and it was so contested and average people took it way out of context and they made it so blatantly media-sized about them doing something slightly wrong wile the person criticizing them is a hypocrite usually. |
