'I love you more than I can say, Why won't you just believe?' That line is so sad. This whole song is so sad. It kind of seems to me as a long friendship that's ending/ended Because of a mistake where he broke their trust and he didn't mean for it to happen. This person means more to him than anyone else, But he's out of ways to show that to them. And no matter how many times he tries to explain it, They won't believe him Or listen to what he has to say. Song is so emotional. I love it. I love all of Wish. |

'Can I use some of your lipstick?' Possible the most adorable, cutest, perfect way of asking for a kiss. I think this songs about two people, who have never met. Though they're writing to each other. And they start to fall for each other and decide they MUST meet. And the day they do, is so unbelievable and perfect. And he falls for her so much more. But she goes home and thinks she's crazy and it'll never work. So stops replying to his letters and moves on, though she'll never forget him. Possibly because what they had for that short time was unlike anything she'd ever experienced. And 'She'd started smoking poetry!' I don't think is about drugs, It actually could be about poetry. She's read some of his favorite stuff and quoted it. And he laughed at the recognition of it. |

First part seems to be referring to sex, "Show me how you do that trick, The one that makes me scream" She said. "The one that makes me laugh" She said. Like, he's learnt some new trick in bed and it makes her scream and giggle. "Show me how you do it and I promise you I promise that I'll run away with you I'll run away with you" Sounds like she's promising him, She'll be with him 'forever' And no one can stop their love. 'And dreamed of all the different ways I had To make her glow' Seems to again come back to sex, because apparently sex makes your skin glow. And he's thinking of other ways to please her like the trick he's just showed her. "Why are you so far away?" she said "Why won't you ever know that I'm in love with you? That I'm in love with you?" And then this, Seems like he's always going away - On tour. And because of this, she can't really show him just how in love she is. God I love The Cure. But this song to me seems like, He's loves a girl and all the little things she does just makes him smile. Just makes him think she's so much more adorable then she already is. And just being around her makes him that much happier, Like he's high on life and couldn't possibly be feeling any better. |

Oh wow, when listening to it you get kind of sad and then when you read the lyrics you're just like.. wow. I literally had tears in my eyes. To me this song is like, the girl is completely in love with the boy and he's kind of just lying to her to keep her happy. And when he's crying it's because he doesn't want too hurt her but can't take lying to her anymore. And then when he tells her, she's broken-hearted. And hung herself? Or something like that. It just seems to me like its about a relationship where one of them are more into it, more in love than the other. But the other is just going along with it. I think The Cure should release a book on all the true song meanings, Though it'd be like a gazillion pages long. Would be interesting to see what all the songs really do mean though. |

| I think this could mean anything, like during the week you couldn't care less; you just want it to be friday. As friday is usually the party night so he could be going out, getting wasted and being a happy drunk. And forgetting everything. Or it could be relationship wise, not seeing your loved one during the week and then seeing them on friday, Having an amazing time and realising how much you really love them. Guess we'll never know unless we ask Robert himself :) | |
