Generally Im not a fan of relationship songs But to me this one holds a place In my heart. The guy is trying to become a "rock star" while the girl is trying to complete a more private goal of her own. Despite their reliance on each other, they succeed without each other. And thermrelationship falls apart even though they used each other to get where they are. Sad. But part of life. I love this song. |

I could be way off on this But to me it's about thinking you have a relationship locked in. You're more or less with that person. But somehow you find a way to blow it. And that person, the "three seed" who's sums dont add up with the person at all, steals them away from you at the last second. You have no idea how. They have nothing in common. All you know us you lost. Against the odds. Again I could be way off on this. Just how I've I ferreted it over the years. And speaking as the one seed who's lost plenty of games to the three seed, it's easy to relate to this song as well. |

I love this song, definitely my favorite off the new album which generally disappointed me actually. Anyway i love this song To me, it shows that feeling you get/have when you're waking up next to the person who you love and just want to spend the rest of your life with. It just feels like you want to be with them forever, you just wish everything would stay Absolutely Still. I think the "door" metaphor symbolizes them being together, as "every door I shut is leading me to you", but now the door's locked meaning they're to be together forever, and he just wishes everything would stay Absolutely Still. Again great song. I've always loved Better Than Ezra and saw them live a few years ago. |
